Ca. 9th century AD.A ceramic bowl of hemispherical shape rising from an unglazed circular base. The interior is decorated with stylised motifs painted in brown and ochre. Ca. 550 - 400 BC.A rare Daunian ceramic vessel with a deep funnel-shaped neck and a loop handle on the shoulder. It has a vertical zoomorphic protome in the form of a stag head with two horns. Ca. AD 900 - 1000. A Nishapur white bowl with black hand-painted vegetal and iconic trilobate symbols in rich black, yellow, and red tones. Nishapur was one of the great centres of pottery production and related arts during the Islamic Golden Age, especially in the 9th and 10th centuries. The iconic products of this region were ceramic ware with the Kufic script, and the text often contained a proverb in Arabic or a series of blessings.
