** André Baud (French, 1903-1986) Ceramic vase decorated with geometric patterns in black and yellow enamels impressed mark to base "Vallauris", (small glaze chip to rim), Height 20 cms Andre Baud (1903-1986) was a French ceramicist and was one of the first potters to settle in Vallauris, circa 1942. His work is known for its simple shape, sobriety and intense use of colour. He was one of the earlier promoters of Vallauris pottery, along with Suzanne Ramie. As early as 1946, he and Ramie organized exhibitions of pottery from this region.
