Keith Murray for Mappin and Webb, an Art Deco style silver plated bowl, W27688, conical form, with incised concentric ring banding to the rim and root, 10.5cm diameter Designed by Keith Murray for Mappin & Webb. Keith Murray (1892-1981) was born in New Zealand and moved to the UK with his parents when he was 14. He trained as an architect and worked as an illustrator before becoming a designer. During the 1930’s he produced designs in glass for Stevens & Williams, ceramic for Wedgwood and for silver manufacturers Mappin and Webb. His designs are now much sort after. Following the second world war, he returned to his career as an architect.
