Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD. A pair of broad glazed ceramic bowls with rolled rim and basal ring, pointillé initial to the inner face; scrolled foliage ornament to the outer face. 564 grams total, 15.5-16.5cm (6 - 6 1/2"). Roman Period, 1st century BC-1st century AD. A ceramic hollow-formed model fish, probably a carp, with scale and fin detailing, open mouth and outlet beneath the body; mounted on a custom-made stand. 845 grams, 26cm including stand (10 1/4"). UK art market, acquired prior to 2000. Fine condition.
4th-3rd century BC. A broad ceramic jar with narrow flared foot, bands of polychrome geometric ornament, panels with fishes, a gryphon and a lion. A ceramic female figure with elaborate headdress, pinched facial features, applied necklace band, arms extended, impressed points to the face, breasts and navel, chevrons to the hips, conjoined legs 83 grams, 19cm (7 1/2").
