A Victorian mahogany extending dining table, with two leaves, recessed frieze and raised on five turned tapered legs terminating in brass and ceramic castors. Length extended 250 cm, width 153 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This is a pull out dining table. The mechanism is all complete. The condition is generally very good. The table top is flat and does not sag. The colour is universal. There are some minor surface scratches to the surface as one would expect but no significant marks. One end has an old stress fracture to the mahogany but this is not problematic. The frieze has some stress fractures to the veneers particularly around each corner which is only visible when viewed at ground level. There is one small veneer loss to one corner. The legs are all structurally sound and the castors in good order and original.

A pair of late Victorian rosewood ladies and gentleman's chairs, by John Taylor & Sons, Edinburgh, with upholstered backs and seats. CONDITION REPORT: The castors on the smaller chair are all brass and match each other. They are probably the original castors. The larger chair has what is probably one original castor to the rear left hand leg. The other three castors are all of a very similar design but do have ceramic wheels. Both chairs are in need of complete re-upholstering. The large chair front legs and exposed showframe are in very good structural condition and are not loose at the joints, there are no loose joint at all on this chair. The top left hand finial has had a small break but all pieces are present and the finial is solid. There are scuffs to the top rail and the legs but no significant issues. The right hand facing rear leg is in good order with no problems. The left hand rear leg is structurally sound but has had a spliced break at the bottom. This is solid but visible on close inspection. The timberwork is original. The small chair is an extremely good structural condition. There are no breaks to any of the legs. There are no loose joints. There are however numerous old scratches and scuffs as one would expect.
