A De Lamerie of London presentation, hand painted, ceramic tile set in a black embossed leather tray, inscribed on back of frame "With the Best Wishes of Ahmed Zaki Yamani" in a custom purple velvet covered box, 12 x 12in. (30.5 x 30.5cm.). Provenance: From a collection of gifts to a friend of Sheikh Ahmed Zaki Yamani (1930-2021). * For over two decades as petroleum minister for Saudi Arabia (1962-1986), Sheikh Ahmed Zaki Yamani was arguably one of the most famous and powerful men on earth. He was a minister in OPEC (Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) and is remembered for his role during the 1973 oil crisis when he encouraged OPEC to quadruple the price of crude oil. In December 1975 Yamani was taken hostage in Vienna with the other OPEC ministers by the infamous terrorist Carlos the Jackal. The hostages were flown across North Africa before being released two days later. Carlos spared the life of Yamani and his Iranian counterpart despite having been ordered to execute them. Yamani's negotiation style, according to Henry Kissinger, was to wine and dine other dignitaries until the point of fullness and lethargy, before beginning protracted negotiations.

Churchill family interest, Sarah Churchill (British, 1914-1982) Profile of the artist's father, Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), etching, signed in pencil lower right, probably a proof in addition to the limited edition of three hundred, framed, 13 7/8 x 10 1/2in. (35.2 x 26.7cm.), together with a framed certificate awarded to Randolph Churchill MBE (1911-1968), the only son of Sir Winston and Lady Churchill, conferring upon him a Fellowship of the Incorporated Society of Auctioneers and Landed Property Agents, dated 7th May 1940. Also an Ezra Brooks novelty ceramic bourbon whiskey bottle in the form of Churchill delivering a speech inscribed "The Iron Curtain Speech March 5 1946 Fulton, Mo", marked beneath "First edition of the Winston Churchill commemorative bottle. As presented to the honored guests at the dedication of the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library in the United States May 7, 1969". Also the steel company seal of Randolph Churchill's company, Hurst Investments Limited. * Sarah Churchill was an actress and dancer, the third child of Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) and Clementine Ogilvy Hozier, Lady Churchill (1885-1977). **Creases in the paper commensurate with a proof etching, otherwise good.

WAH 1215, c.2011, the white dial with silver baton markers and Arabic 12, lumed sword hands, date aperture at 4.30, the 38mm. case with diamond set bezel and screw down crown, the 120 diamonds totalling 0.75ct, original stainless steel and white ceramic bracelet, with papers and spare links, no box. *Very good condition. Working. Crown sets the hands and date correctly. Dial and crystal VG. Case and bracelet good with just light scratching.

H&R Daniel - A teacup and saucer, circa 1827pattern 4412, of 'C' scroll shape, the cup raised on three 'daisy wheel' feet, the maroon ground reserved with oval panels of enamelled flowers surrounded by complex burnished and raised gilt scrolls, further decorated with gilt birds in branches between the panels, numbered in gilt, teacup 6.8cm high, saucer 14.8cm diameter (2)Provenance: The Michael Berthoud Collection. Exhibited at the Northern Ceramic Society 'Flowering of British Ceramics Exhibition' in 2022. Literature: A similar teacup and saucer are illustrated in Identifying Daniel Porcelain Tablewares, p.126.Condition:The gilding on the three raised feet has turned to a copper colour. Slight wear to the underside of the three feet. No damages or repairs. A few spots of gilding loss to the saucer, predominantly to the borders of the exterior panels. Some fine crazing visible to the saucer.
