A Victorian tub chair, with sprung seat and gold lozenge upholstered material, all upon turned tapering mahogany legs terminating in brass and ceramic castors. CONDITION REPORT: This chair is in generally good condition. The only minor issue is that the castors whilst Victorian are not original. They are also all a little loose. The legs are in good order with no breaks and only minor surface scuffs and marks as one would expect. The upholstery generally seems very good and is certainly serviceable. If the colour scheme fits then reupholstery is not necessary. There is no significant staining, no perishing and no holes in the fabric. The chair is generally very clean, the only issue being the unoriginal castors.
A late Victorian mahogany revolving bookcase, the square top with crossbanding and boxwood stringing above sectional tiers with turned spindles, all upon a square base with short cabriole legs terminating in ceramic castors. The underside carved "Reg 21.99" and further struck with numbers 99810. 50.5 cm wide, 87 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase is structurally very sound with no loose joints. The top is flat with no significant warping. The centre rectangular panel has slightly shrunk away from one moulded edge and there is a gap between the edge moulding and this panel on one side. All shelves are in good condition and all shelf supports are present. The swivel mechanism operates as it should and the legs are all in good order. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The colour is fairly consistent throughout with only slight fading to the rear of the top. The polish is generally good, again with only minor marks to the top surface as one would probably expect.
