Labels all discoloured with some scuffs and tears. 3 bottles.
A 19th Century brass oil lamp, with a yellow ceramic reservoir on a fluted brass pedestal, a spherical opaque glass shade and clear chimney, 53 cm highThe fount screws off. Overall in good condition with no obvious restoration Dusty and would benefit from a clean. Tarnishing to the metal and some small dents to the sides and base. Ceramic in good condition with some light scratches but no apparent cracks, pitting or restoration. Small chip to base of the glass shade.
PAIR OF CERAMIC BALUSTER VASES AND COVERS Berlin, early 19th century Circular section with rounded shoulders, cylindrical neck surmountend by a domed cover with a large finial shaped as a rooster, the whole external surface painted in polychromy and gold on a red ground with chinese figures in the landscape and flowered branches, a Kangxi-style mark consisting in a lozenge inside concentric circles to the centre of the base of both. CERAMIC JAR Khmer, 11th-12th Century Compressed globular body and small circular mouth, dark brown glaze with an incised decoration of stylized motifs. Height 3.54 in. Jars with this shape were probably used to contain oil, or as oil lamps (Khmer Glazed Ceramics, exhibition catalogue, Lisbon 2004, pp. 95-97, for a series of similar jars).
TWO LONGQUAN CERAMIC DISHES China, Ming dynasty, 14th-15th Century Circular section with ring base, rounded walls and barbed rim, incised and moulded decoration, one with a floral composition the other with a geometric pattern to the centre of the interior, both with an olive green thick céladon glaze and with the label “Collezione Gilberto Zabert Torino”, one with the label “The S. Barkeley Smith Collection, July, 1922, N° 216”. Diameter 11.42 in.
