A late 19th Century oil lamp With ceramic body removable glass font and circular brass loaded base, bears marks for Evered & Co London and Birmingham together with a related frosted glass shade and chimney, total approx height 60cm CONDITION REPORT: Ceramic body with hairline cracks and some discolouration
2nd-3rd century AD. A ceramic oil lamp with broad body and short D-shaped nozzle, ribbed shoulder and low-relief image of a scutarius or ajax with plumed helmet, large shield and curved knife. Very fine condition.
1st century BC-1st century AD. A ceramic oil lamp with angled nozzle and pelta motif to the side; dished top decorated to the centre with a gladiator wearing a plumed helmet, holding sword and shield. 52 grams, 10cm (4"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Very fine condition.
