A cluster of vessels is gathered in the forground with the vast New York Waterfront behind. Clippers, paddle steamers, cargo vessels, and bowboats ply the harbor. Linen backed. Polychrome frame. Telling the story through illustrations of an erotic tryst between a man and a woman who meet at a metro station and swifty proceed to have sexual relations in a taxi, finishing at a maison de passe, Idylle Printaniere was a tour de force by Rojan, who was ironically otherwise very well known as a childrens book illustrator. This hors commerce edition of the book was limited to 310 copies.
