After Leslie Ward, "Spy" (1851 - 1922) and Henry Mayo Bateman (1887 - 1970) "Judicial Politeness", a study of Baron Charles Bowen at the bench and a humorous depiction of a courtroom with judge balancing a quill on his nose as the court look on in bemusement, chromolithographic print and watercolour tinted lithograph, dated March 12 1892, published by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son for Vanity Fair magazine, and "Jurisprudence", each card mount and frame under glass, largest 32 cm x 48 cm overall [Ward was a renowned portrait painter and caricaturist, often publishing under the name 'Spy' or 'Drawl'.
