The print is signed by the artist, Robert Taylor and Oberst Erich Hartmann KC (1922 - 1993), also nicknamed "The Blond Knight Of Germany" by friends and "The Black Devil" by his enemies, who is the most successful fighter ace in the history of aerial combat. He claimed 352 enemy aircraft shot down (of which 345 were flown by the Soviet Air Force, and 260 of which were fighters) in 825 combat sorties while serving with the Luftwaffe, Germany's air force, in World War II. In this print, Erich Hartmann in his Me109 closes in to within 100 metres of a Russian Ilyushin II, one of his many close encounters high over the Eastern Front. In the top left corner are three woodworm holes that don’t appear to be live. Otherwise the colour is good and the frame is fine.There is no edition number. Nash’s signature appears printed within the plate with the dedication written in pencil on the lower right hand corner.
