A collection of twenty-five original designs for furniture and decorative ornament, c.1880s, neatly drawn designs on paper, each mounted on card, image sizes vary from approx 145 x 70 to 265 x 180mm, together with twelve lithograph plts. (inc. 8 hand-col.) of furniture designs, c.1880s, each mounted on card, approx. 95 x 50 to 280 x 195mm, plus twelve cromos of furniture and textile designs, all loosely contained in two portfolio albums. Herbert Pizer (1890-1920). The Blue Bird, signed bottom left, inscribed on the mount, watercolour and bodycolour over pencil 48 x 34cm. Together with a lithograph and two magazine covers, all unframed *Herbert Pizer (1890-1920) was a commercial artist working from studios in London and New York who specialised in illustrative magazine work, notably Pan magazine circa 1915. Pizer was married, until his death from appendicitis at the age of 30, to Lydia Jessie Daniels, daughter of George Daniels (see lots 337 and 338) who then later married Robert Marsh Brown (see lot 409B).
