“Nasiru 'D Din Kajar”, the Shah of Persia, supplement to the Liverpool Mercury, lithograph on paper [Liverpool, 28 June 1873] single sheet, portrait of the Shah in his crown and formal attire, his name also appearing in caption below in Farsi nasta'liq script, clean and crisp condition, c. 280 by 190 mm.; in modern card mount, framed and glazed During the Shah's tour of the UK in 1873, the Illustrated London News and The Times extensively reported and illustrated the Shah's activities around the UK. It is however much rarer to find a regional magazine document his trip. As well as Liverpool, the Shah visited Manchester, Portsmouth and Westminster and Richmond in London during his tour.

Weiner London Perhaps best known as an illustrator of the Ladybird Books in the ‘Golden-Age’ of the 1960s and 70s, Ronald Lampitt was a self-taught artist and worked as a commercial illustrator before the war. His use of colour and form gives his work a unique quality and distinctive style, as evident in the tiled mosaic style used in the Cornwall poster he designed for Great Western Railways. (Dimensions: 100 x 124cm)(100 x 124cm)Condition report: This is an original print in very good professionally restored condition. The colours are strong with no obvious signs of fading overall. There are some damp marks along the lower edge and minor creases and small tears to the corners. It is framed and glazed and well presented. Not examined out of frame.
