He divided his time between homes in Suffolk, Tuscany and Australia. A modest and deeply private man, he produced a massive, dramatic and mysterious body of work, including portraits and landscapes encompassing mythological themes.Over his lifetime Boyd produced series of works on subjects from the Bible and the classics - epics ranging from The Life Of St Francis Of Assisi to Nebuchadnezzar.At his property at Bundanon, in a landscape of great variety, he painted hundreds of works which have altered our perceptions of the landscape in Australia (See lot 19).Donated by Jamie Boyd
