* Blampied (Edmund, 1886-1966). Portrait of the Artist W. P. Holland, lithograph, signed and dated in the image January 1933, additionallyinscribed by the artist in ink to lower margin, ‘To my friend Harold James Baily, E. * Bone (Sir David Muirhead, 1876-1953). Cunard Line ‘Tuscania’, b&w lithograph, signed lower right, image size 53 x 35.5cm (21 x 14ins), framed and glazed, with remains of early handwritten label to verso, and modern certificate of authenticity from Foxsmith Galleries, Plymouth, to verso. The Tuscania was launched in 1915, and sailed regularly across the Atlantic until it was torpedoed by a German submarine on 24th January 1918, carrying over 2,000 American troops, with the loss of 230 people. * Grun (Jules Alexandre, 1868-1934). La Pepini?re, 1898, colour lithograph poster, printed by Imprimerie Chaix, Paris, some light surface marks and a few short closed marginal tears, 127.5 x 90cm (50.25 x 35.5ins), laid down on linen. One of three posters designed by Grun for La Pepiniere, which, in contrast to other Parisian nightclubs such as the Folies Bergeres and the Casino de Paris, attracted a more working-class audience. Annotated proof for the cover of The Work of Graham Sutherland, by Douglas Cooper, published by Lund Humphries, 1961, colour lithograph, printed by Curwen Press, of the binding design by Graham Sutherland, extensively annotated by the artist, 29 x 52cm (11.5 x 20.5ins), framed and glazed, together with an autograph letter signed from Graham Sutherland to Mr Scott, regarding the positioning of the design on the binding, handwritten in pencil on headed notepaper (mounted on backing paper) An important document relating to the artist’s design for the binding of the first major monograph on Graham Sutherland, in which the artist shows his concern with the placing of the design on the spine of the volume, and the exact measurements of the spine width.
