Print appears to be stuck down to the mount at the corners. The mount is water-damaged and has discoloured. A little loose in the frame.

British Arctic Exploration - Nares Expedition, 1875-76. The Five Flags Hoisted at 83º 20´ 26´ N. on May 12th, 1876, lithograph broadside printed in colours, with the five flags of the expedition at head, followed by H.M.S. 'Alert' Autumn Travelling, 1876 with 6 flags and descriptions, Spring Travelling, 1876 with 9 flags, and H.M.S. Discovery, Spring Travelling, 1876 with 6 flags, one or two light spots, folds, 600 x 275 mmQty: (1)Footnote: Rare Arctic broadside commemorating the achievements of the 1875-76 Admiralty expedition, led by Sir George Strong Nares in an attempt to reach the North Pole via Smith Sound. The sledging party, commanded by Albert Hastings Markham reached a new farthest north record of 83º 20´ 26´, only surpassed by Norwegian explorer Fridtjoft Nansen in 1895. Although the expedition failed to reach the Pole, there were other achievements including extensive explorations of the coasts of Greenland and Ellesmere Island, and photographic documentation of the indigenous population and topography.
