The third of these volumes was a collaboration with Koloman Moser titled Flachenschmuck (planar ornamentation) and contained 30 plates demonstrating Moser at the height of his talent as a graphic designer. Poster designed by Fix Masseau (Pierre Felix Masseau, 1905-1994) featuring an elegant Art Deco image of a steam train pulling into a station with ETAT written on the red bumper in front of the train. Official lithograph re-issue from the 1932 original by Studio Editions, printed by Bedos, Paris. Excellent condition. Pierre Felix Masseau (17 March 1869 - 1937), known professionally as Fix-Masseau, was a noted French sculptor and father of poster artist Pierre Fix-Masseau. Fix-Masseau was born in Lyon, studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, served as director of the Ecole Nationale d'Art Decoratif in Limoges until 1935, and was made an officer of the Legion d'honneur. He formed part of the French decorative art movement, creating objects such as vases and chandeliers in the Art Nouveau style, exhibited numerous works at the Salon des Artistes Francais and the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and was widely respected for his portrait busts.
