REICHENBACH [Heinrich Gottlieb Ludwig] (1793-1879): 127 Original watercolours of mainly OWLS, many heightened with gum Arabic, plus 9 in pencil (Including possibly a couple of Engravings?). All mounted, either one or more to a page, into a green morocco-backed marbled boards volume with 'Reichenbach, Original Drawings' to the spine. The page size: 350 x 250 mm. The size of the drawings varies from 280 x 220 mm the largest, 180 x140 mm the medium & 140 x 110 mm or slightly less for the smallest. [H. G. Ludwig Reichenbach, botanist, ornithologist and artist, was born in Saxony in 1793. He studied medicine and the natural sciences at Leipzig, gaining his doctorate in Philosophy in 1815 and Medicine in 1817. He moved to Dresden in 1820 as professor of natural history at the college of medicine, where he became director of the zoological museum and director of the botanical garden, which he helped found.]

Franck“ und datiert. Verso signiert „gem: v: von C. F. Franck“ und datiert. 57 x 65 cm. Mit feinen Krakelüren und Bereibungen im Bereich der Ränder. Franck studierte von 1829 bis 1835 an der Kunstakademie Dresden. Nach Beendigung des Studiums war er freischaffend als Maler und Zeichenlehrer in Dresden tätig und zwischen 1830 und 1865 regelmäßig auf Ausstellungen vertreten. Seine Gemälde zeigen fast ausschließlich sächsische Landschaften. Stimmungsvolle Darstellung in fein abgestuftem grünem und bräunlichem Kolorit. Gerahmt. [bg]

Verso mit dem Stempel „Gustav Schönleber’s/ausgewählter Nachlass“ sowie auf typographisch bezeichneten Künstleretikett von der Künstlergattin Luise Schönleber in brauner Feder datiert, betitelt „Montefino Bucht, Olivenhain“ und bezeichnet (darunter mit der Nachlaß-Verzeichnis-Nr. „482“ ). 38,5 x 27,5 cm. Ränder überklebt. Mit Retuschen. In den 90er Jahren des 19. Jahrhundert widmete sich Schönleber in Italien weiteren Studien, so an der Riviera, in Venedig und an der Adriaküste. Bracht zuerst in Berlin und Dresden, bevor er sich als freier Maler in Berlin niederließ. 1907 unternahm er eine Reise in die Deutschen Kolonien, um Farbaufnahmen zu machen, die 1909/10 im Werk „Die deutschen Kolonien“ veröffentlicht wurden. 1908 reiste er von den deutschen Besitzungen in der Südsee über Hongkong weiter nach China. Dresden porcelain candlestick, acanthus leaf sconce, scrolled floral encrusted column, circular base modelled with lady and child, underglaze blue crossed swords mark, impressed numbers 74 and 163, 30cm.Condition report:Height 30cm. Width 12cm. Base diameter 10cm.The scone has been resecurred with a makeshift cork stopper and wire attaching to the top of the branch. There is a shallow chip to one of the leaves of the sconce. Various chipped losses to the foliage and applied detailing. Chipped losses around the base circumference. No evident restoration.

Great War Navy Felix Nikolaus Alexander Georg Graf von Luckner collection of two photos and handwritten letter. (9 June 1881, Dresden - 13 April 1966, Malmö), sometimes called Count Luckner in English, was a German nobleman, naval officer, author, and sailor who earned the epithet Der Seeteufel (the Sea Devil), and his crew that of Die Piraten des Kaisers (the Emperor's Pirates), for his exploits in command of the sailing commerce raider SMS Seeadler (Sea Eagle) during the First World War. After the war, Luckner became a war hero in Germany and was renowned around the world for his seamanship and chivalrous conduct during the war, which resulted in a minimal loss of life on both sides. Before her marriage in 1913, Hildegarde studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and was a keen artist with a particular interest in the Arts and Crafts movement. PAIR OF LARGE DRESDEN LIDDED JARS. A pair of large jars painted with alternating panels of courting couples and sprays of flowers on a purple ground. With dome top covers with gilded finials and various gilded decoration, each with 'AR' monogram mark to the base. 37.5cms high. *CR One jar, lid - finial has chipped down one side and gilded over, some wear to the gilding around the rim of the lid, bottom of lid slightly miss shaped from manufacture. Jar, hairline crack from rim to bottom of that section, section inside the rim uneven from manufacture. The other, lid - the finial has been broken at the base and restored, a little wear to the finial and rim in places, bottom of lid slightly miss shaped from manufacture. Jar, a little wear to the gilding in places, firing crack to the base (4cms long).
