Three Dresden encriers, all decorated with floral motifs: one of rectangular, foliate form; one of circular foliate form, and one of irregular shell design; the last 20 cm diameter; all with underglaze-blue Dresden mark, 20th Century (3) Condition Report The damage includes areas of restoration to the body of the rectangular encrier, and to the domed cover of the shell-shaped encrier.
An associated Dresden caberet set: including: a chocolate cup and saucer; two shell-shaped dishes; a sugar bowl and cover; a teapot and cover; a small tripod slop bowl; a two-handled bowl cover and stand; and a large circular tray, the last 39 cm diameter. With the exception of the tray and bowl, all with underglaze blue Dresden mark, 20th Century (13) Condition Report The damage includes some areas of chipping to the dish and bowl.

Two animal musician figures, 14 cm. high, both modelled after the Affenkapelle genre, comprising: a monkey drummer and a frog violinist; together with two encriers, one Dresden and one with Plaue/Thuringia mark. Both encriers with their cover; all 20th Century [4] Condition Report The damage to this lot includes some deterioration and restoration to one encrier cover.
Arte Islamica. A fine and rare ivory dagger hilt extremely finely carved with arabesques Turkey, Ottoman dynasty, 16th century. The hilt ends in a lobed and cuspidate element, and shows intricate and very fine carvings of interwoven half-palmettes on all sides. Hilts of this kind were typical of the Ottoman production of the XVI – XVII centuries. Furthermore, similar decorations are present on two ivory mirrors made for Suleiman the Magnificent in 1543 – 1554 (Atil, The Age of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent, 1987, p. 139). For similar examples refer to: the one at the British Museum in London (museum number: 1878.1230.817); the one at the Historische Museum of Dresda; another at the Walters Art Museum of Baltimore (Accession number 71.571); the item part of the collection The Furusiyya Art Foundation published in Bashir, The Arts of the Muslim Knight, 2008, p. 164, and the hilts published in Holger Schuckelt, Turckische Cammer: Orientalische Pracht in der Rustkammer Dresden, 2009. On the antiquarian market see lot 164 auctioned at Sotheby’s London on April 27, 2005 and the couple of star shaped panels in rosewood, decorated in the same style with carved ivory and auctioned by Sotheby’s Doha on March 19, 2009 lot 313. . Two 19th century Dresden Porcelain polychrome figures. Tallest 18 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The smaller of the two figures has had professional restoration to the plume of the hat and to the right hand facing arm below the elbow. The larger figure has several chips to the bocage. The right rear hand has one broken finger. There is rubbing to the gilding. There are further small chips to the leaves on the rear of the bocage.
