An early 20thC near set of Dresden Coffee Cans and Saucers, comprising eleven Coffee Cans and twelve Saucers, all decorated in gilt and floral pattern with scroll handles, with Dresden crown mark to base, some chipped/cracked, together with four Royal Nymphenburg plates, in similar floral and gilt pattern enclosed by a somewhat reticulated rim, 27 items overall (a lot)
A large rare Staffordshire Loving Cup, the pink ground base with gilt decoration, with 'Forget Me Not' inscription and panel with painted flowers, flanked by two gilded handles, 10½in wide x 7in tall, together with a large Dresden lidded dish, decorated with gilt and flora, stamped to base with Dresden mark (2)
A pair of 19th century shaped porcelain cabinet plates and a pair of Dresden-style porcelain dishes: the plates with floral gilt-highlighted decoration against a puce border and central hand-decorated vignettes in enamel depicting fruits on a plinth (20cm diameter); the dishes decorated with floral sprays and gilt highlights (2 pairs)Condition Report: The two slightly larger circular plates with minor gilt rubbing to the edges, some minor 'scratches' to the plate surface, the pair of plates decorated with fruits in good original order and condition.
Three pieces of Dresden porcelain: a fine neo-classical-style hand gilded and decorated urn and cover with two ram's head-style handles (20cm high); a Dresden circular porcelain jar and cover, the cover finial modelled as a gilded flowerhead with open leaves and the main body decorated with vignettes of courting couples in 18th century dress within country surroundings in typical fashion; a Dresden eggshell porcelain cup and saucer, hand gilded and decorated with floral sprays, the cup also decorated internally and to the underside (3)
A late 19th century Dresden-style porcelain bottle vase (now drilled with a singular small hole to the outside of the base, as a lamp), typically hand decorated in enamels with floral sprays against puce preserves and scenes of courting couples in 18th century-style dress within countryside, co-joined 'AR' blue-painted mark to underside (29cm high)
A fine hand-gilded and decorated Dresden porcelain urn and cover; the reticulated domed top above a conforming oval body with two gilded ram's head mask-style handles and a central oval hand-decorated topographical vignette depicting a single building within countryside surroundings, on waisted oval stem leading to platform base with concave corners, impressed mark and blue painted Dresden mark to underside (24.5cm high)
A selection of ornamental and decorative ceramics: to include Crown Staffordshire Fine Bone China, a Royal Crown Derby two-handled trinket dish in the 'Royal Antoinette' pattern, a Davenport urn with hinged lid and two handles modelled as open-winged angel-style figures (18.5cm high, approx. 11cm at the widest point), a Royal Crown Derby goblet in the 'Olde Avesbury' pattern, a Dresden-style table bell with hand decoration of floral sprays and gilt highlights (large hairline), five cups and saucers, three mugs etc.Condition Report: The Davenport urn is a modern reproduction from the early 21st century, all appears to be in good condition. It is noted that there some 'original' glue noticeable where the hinged lid has been glued onto the main body and where the body meets the circular socle at the base. This appears as a manufacturing rather than restoration issue.
A good selection of mostly small late 19th/early 20th century decorative ornamental porcelain etc. to include two Austrian-style tygs, a 19th century Coalbrookdale-style porcelain chamberstick encrusted with flowers, a Hammersley cabinet cup and saucer in the 'Dresden Sprays' pattern, a pair of Continental late 19th century seated figures (male and female) together with other similar items etc.
A good pair of late 19th century Dresden-style two-handled porcelain urns and covers (as potpourri); the reticulated circular covers surmounted with a gilded wreath-style finial above vignettes with floral sprays against a celeste-blue ground and further scenes of figures in countryside surroundings in 18th century-style dress, the urns with two high arched gilded handles and further scenes of courting couples in 18th century-style dress within country surroundings and further floral sprays against further celeste-blue backgrounds raised on spreading circular foot similarly decorated and terminating in a square plinth-style base with gilded edge depicting stylised swirls etc., each with painted co-joined 'AR' mark to underside (full height 29.5cm to tip of finial)Condition Report: This items have come from a private clearance and been in cabinets throughout. Sadly the circular wreath-shaped handle on one of the urns has been broken at one stage and re-affixed badly with glue showing, in the Auctioneers opinion this could be rectified fairly easy with a professional restorer. The rest of the cover that the handle is affixed to appears good. The main urn has a tiny bit of gilt rubbing but nothing of great concern. Upon close inspection one of the handles of this urn has been off and then on again with some glue showing where it affixes at the top and also at the bottom of the urn where it has been 're-gilded'. The second urn again the circular wreath-shaped handle has been off and re-glued, there is a very small piece of the pink ribbon with the handle is missing while the rest of the cover appears OK. The rest of the piece in good order although it is a little dirty inside. There is no other major damage noted.
Two pieces of Dresden porcelain and one other Continental piece: a Dresden porcelain bowl with reticulated lip and decorated with garlands and swags of flowers, raised on four foliate-shaped gilded feet, blue printed mark to underside (19cm diameter); a Dresden porcelain inkwell decorated with flowers amidst green fish-scale-style panels; a 19th century Continental inkstand, quatrefoil-shaped, hand gilded and decorated, removeable circular sander and inkwell, the exterior of the main body decorated in enamels with various exotic birds, raised on four gilded and decorated scallop shell-style feet (18.5cm wide) (3)
Three pieces of fine Dresden porcelain: a vase modelled as a two-handled campana-style urn upon a plinth base, hand gilded and decorated with floral sprays (17.5cm high); a circular porcelain bowl and cover with ornate gilded cover above a circular body decorated with a floral garland, raised on concave-sided base with four gilded animals on stile feet (13.25cm diameter) and a Dresden porcelain inkwell on stand similarly gilded and hand decorated in enamels with floral sprays(3)
