*After Tiziano Vecellio Titian (1485/89-1576). Sleeping Venus, later 18th century oil on canvas, relined, and with some restoration (by G. Morrill with his stamp to stretcher verso), 43 x 92 cm (17 x 36 ins), modern antique-style gilt frame with title label to lower centre inscribed 'Venus Reposing after Titian 1538' Provenance: Private Collection, Hampshire. A copy after the version of the Sleeping Venus in Dulwich Picture Gallery, prized as an original work by Titian by Noel Desenfans and Francois Bourgeois (whose collections formed the basis of the Dulwich Picture Gallery), and then believed to be by Titian himself. The Dulwich Sleeping Venus is itself a version of the Sleeping Venus of 1510 by Giorgione, now in the Gemaldergalerie, Dresden. (1)

Five oval portrait miniatures, mid-late 19th century, together five half-length portraits, hand-painted in gouache and watercolour on a printed ground, depicting: Lola Montez and Kanla (mounted together in double aperture frame); Napoleon (two portraits in separate frames); and the Dresden Venus, each approximately 8 x 6cm (3 x 2.25ins), all signed Renè, except for one with signature Dumar, similar contemporary panelled ivory frames glazed, most with engraved decoration, some minor chips and cracks to ivory in a few places, most with contemporary manuscript on verso Reproduced in reverse from well-known portraits, these decorative portrait miniatures are finely coloured products for the tourist market. Diffuse fioriture e bruniture; numerosi aloni, qualche traccia d'uso. Legatura coeva uniforme in mezza pergamena con angoli, piatti in carta marmorizzata. Dorsi lisci con titolo e numero del volume in oro su doppio tassello in marocchino verde. Piatti piuttosto abrasi, mancanze ai labbri e agli angoli. Danneggiato il dorso del terzo volume, in corrispondenza della cuffia di testa, leggermente fessurata la cerniera anteriore, in modo più evidente al secondo volume.Una delle grandi realizzazioni della scienza bibliografica della seconda metà dell'Ottocento: il Trésor di Johann Georg Theodor Graesse (1827-1895), edito in prima edizione a Dresda tra il 1859 e il 1869. Smooth spines with title and volume numbering in gilt on double green morocco lettering-piece. Covers rather abraded, losses to board edges and corners. The spine of the third volume damaged at the top; front joints slightly cracked, especially the one of the second volume.One of the greatest issues of the 19th-century bibliographic science: the masterful Trésor by Johann Georg Theodor Graesse (1827-1895), first appeared in a Dresden between 1859 and 1869. We offer here the later reprint of 1899-1900. The seventh volume includes the Supplément.

A large collection of German Zeppelin airship postcards dated from early 1900s to 1939 with some coloured examples. Includes many examples of the Graf Zeppelin LZ 127 (1928-1937) the most successful ever built, flying over one million miles and carrying 34,000 passengers, and the first commercial passenger flight over the Atlantic, round the world and over the North Pole. Images include the craft over Karlsruke, Mannheim, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Wappertal, Essen Munich, Basel, Toulon and New York. Also postcards of the Hindenberg LZ129 in the Olympic Ring Livery for 1936 with swastikas to the fins. Other images include large hangars, crash postcards, and images of L12 and 15, L28, R33, 34 and 101 etc. Approximately 250 in all
WW2 Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery War Badge by Hermann Aurich Dresden, badge is complete with gilt wash finish to the wreath and remains of the silvered finish to the centre. Reverse is complete with the hinge, pin and catch fixing. Award has slight convex. Complete with makers mark to the reverse.
