Empire of Japan, c.1840s, engraved map, hand coloured in outline, approx. 390 x 320 mm, together with other SDUK maps, mostly city plans, including Moscow, Milan, Marseille, Genoa, Frankfurt, Dresden, Constantinople, Brussels, Birmingham. Antwerp, Berlin, and a regional map of North America, all hand coloured in outline and in good condition, plus an 18th century uncoloured engraving entitled 'A Prospect of the City of Genoa', approx. 230 x 390 mm with some light foxing. Presentation inscription by the artist to title page "FŸr Fr. Kšttner, Juni 1967, Otto Dix". With additional two-page typewritten letter in German signed by Otto Dix to Hertha Kšttner, London, dated 24th June 1968, in which the artist responds to a request for help in planning an exhibition in his work ".I have had so many exhibitions of my work that I am tired of them and have no desire to hold any further exhibitions here or in London. I also wonder who in London might really be interested in the later pictures of Dix."[auctioneer's translation], and suggesting that she contacts the Galerie Klihm in Munich for help in preparing an exhibition of his drawings. A late 19th century German porcelain centrepiece, the base encrusted with fruit and flowers with pierced panels, the floral encrusted stem with figures of a gallant and three maidens with baskets of flowers, capped with foliage sprays supporting an oval fruit basket painted with sprays of flowers with gilding to the shape pierced borders. Potschappel circa 1880. (Carl Thiame, Dresden). 19 1/2 in. (50cm).
A pair of Helena Wolfsohn (Dresden) porcelain two-handled pedestal jars with pierced covers and ribbon tied laurel wreath knops, enamelled with alternating gilt edged panels of courting figures in landscapes and floral sprays on a turquoise ground, 30cm. high, underglaze 'AR' monogram, late 19th century, glue repair to one handle.

A Furstenberg Figure of a Seated Miner (Einmannbohrer) circa 1770-95 from the ' Grosse Bergbande' series designed by Simon Feilner and modelled by Georg Leimberger, seated chisseling at a rockface wearing a grey and red hat and tunic over a white jerkin, with a black apron and buff leggings 17cm., 6Nin. hammer missing, minor damages Simon Feilner's designs for the series of eleven large miners date from 1757 and the first models were completed by his uncle, Johann Georg Leimberger, during the same year. Due to difficulties with the firing, the series was not completed until the second half of 1758 and Feilner put the finishing touches to the models.
