Der Katholische Arbeiterbund St. Paulus Rheine (Katholische Arbeitnehmer-Bewegung) wurde 1881 gegründet. H. 18 x B. 13,5 x T. 2,5 cm.

Besonders sein Frühwerk war beeinflusst durch die Arbeiten von Käthe Kollwitz und Ernst Barlach. Das Relief entstand nach Eindrücken, die der Künstler auf einer Reise nach Kathmandu gewonnen hatte.
