CROWN DEVON FIELDINGS A rare large Art Deco charger, possibly designed by Enoch Boulton, early 1930s, with black and white geometric printed design on hand painted orange ground, printed black Crown Devon mark and numbered `DEC-No.2/35` to the reverse, 15 1/4" diameter Literature: See Andrew Casey, Art Deco Ceramics in Britain, Antique Collector`s Club, 2008, p.164 for an example of this pattern on a ginger jar.
ATTRIBUTED TO SHOJI HAMADA (1894-1978) A stoneware tray with brown foliate branch brush work on the inside and outside, late 1930`s/early 1940`s, 13" long x 6 1/2" wide x 3" deep; together with original box and cover, annotated with two pen and ink drawings of the tray. Provenance: Purchased from Phil Rogers, Hamada Shoji 1894-1978 Exhibition, at Marston Pottery, Powys, October 2005. H F Reiser inscribed 9 carat gold identity bracelet. Herbert Reiser, Antiquities Collector and dealer, was a personal friend of Henk Huffener, who was appointed his executor when he died in 1978 . Miriam Escofet - Oil painting on board, "The Colosseum" Provenance : Consigned by a private collector This picture has been most recently exhibited in the artist`s Solo Exhibition at the Albemarle Gallery London. 2009 and is being sold with a copy of the catalogue. Miriam Escofet was born in 1967 in Barcelona and moved to England in 1979. She graduated 3D Design Brighton School of Art 1990, and has had many exhibitions from 1990 to present day in London and Paris to include Solo exhibitions at Christopher Wood Gallery, Bond Street and `Maitres Conteporaines de L`lmaginaire show at the Galerie Michelle Boulet Paris Most recent was her Solo Exhibition at the Albemarle Gallery London. Miriam Escofet 2009. She was selected for the BP Portrait Award Exhibition 2007/2009 and 2010 20 x 16in. (50.80 x 40.64cm)
