* MERVYN GOODE (BRITISH b.1948), A SUSSEX FARMHOUSE ON THE RIVER ARUN oil on canvas, signed 51cm x 67cm (20 x 26 inches) Framed Note: Mervyn Goode is one of the country's leading and most respected traditional landscape painters in oil. His first One-man Exhibition, at the Highton Gallery in London in 1970, which featured entirely oil paintings depicting the Hampshire landscape, was a 'sell out', and stimulated considerable interest and achieved rare acclaim from Collectors and Critics, both here and abroad. Numerous One-man Exhibitions held in London and the provinces; a One-man Exhibition in the U.S.A; countless invited featurings in Mixed Exhibitions in Public and Private Galleries throughout the country; featurings in television documentaries; and an ever-increasing demand from Collectors in the UK and abroad. Mervyn Goode's work has been reproduced by the Medici Society, Kingsmead Publications, the Bucentaur Gallery, CCA Stationery, Royle Publications, Country Cards, the Almanac Gallery, the Paper House Group, Phoenix Trading and Rosentiel's (who, during 2004, launched a publication of strictly limited edition prints of two of his paintings, each being an issue of 295 copies signed by the artist), and in numerous Fine Art Books and Periodicals.
* JOYCE MELLISH, THE BLUE SHAWL oil on canvas, signed 71cm x 51cm Framed Note: Joyce Mellish was born in Glasgow and studied at The Glasgow School of Art. She previously spent time in Leeds and has worked for the Scottish Ballet as a designer, including creating several pieces with the director Peter Darrell, before teaching and exhibiting. She has also exhibited landscapes under her married name.

Henry Hamilton, also with a later (19th century) label giving a misleading identification and attribution to Rosalba Carriera.Mary Hamilton married in 1764 (as his second wife) Nathaniel Preston of Swainston, Co. Meath. Her father was a younger son of Viscount Boyne of Stackallan, Co. Meath and her parents were intimate with Mrs Delaney who of them said - I never saw a couple better suited than Mr Hamilton and his wife, their house like themselves looks cheerful and neat...., they have four children, whose behaviour shows the sense of their parents. A SILVER RECTANGULAR CIGARETTE BOX, Birmingham 1940, the lid with engine turned decoration, Belvedere crest and inscribed “Old Belvedere Golfing Society, Captains Prize 1940”, 9x16cm; together with an Edwardian silver cigar case, Birmingham 1907, with engraved scrollwork decoration, with initials; together with an Art Nouveau rectangular cigarette case, the lid decorated with flowers and head of a young woman, stamped ‘800’ and ‘Silver’. Louis Ouvet, France (died 1920), a gilt bronze and ivory figure of an art nouveau lady, on an onyx pedestal base, inscribed 'Ouvet' signature to the rear of her dress, 26cm Condition Report: End of one finger on left hand missing, left arm slightly loose. Minor loss to rim of the marble plinth.
