A silver gilt and enamel egg, by Anthony Elson, London 1979,the silver gilt pedestal egg cup with a cover naturalistically modelled and enamelled as an egg, revealing a `surprise` spring loaded, parcel gilt basket of eggs inside, numbered 56/200, 1.5cm high Anthony Elson (b.1935) trained at Brighton College of Art, before moving on to the Royal College of Art. His first job subsequently was at William Comyns Ltd. Then, in 1966, he took over a company that had produced traditional ecclesiastical designs. There he proceeded to start developing his contemporary designs. Examples of his work are in Salters` Hall, the Inner Temple London and Lincoln Cathedral.

Three rows of graduated natural pearls, 80, 83 and 88 pearls, strung plain to each row in a scattered formation, previously strung in formal graduation. A three row rectangular box clasp, with a trap cut sapphire, end set to the centre, with angled faces to each side, pav? set with old European cut and eight cut diamonds, to hand engraved guards. Accompanied by a pearl identification report from AnchorCert dated 04/09/2014, No. 20018545, stating that, under extensive samplng, the pearls were found to be natural saltwater with two nucleated cultured pearls. Largest pearl 7.76-7.83mm, smallest 3.24-3.25mm CONDITION REPORT: Shape: round to semi round in shape.Colour: medium to light cream.Lustre: good to very good.Overtones: pinkSkins: smooth.Stringing in good condition, clasp secure.

An Art Deco pearl and diamond crossover ring with diamond set shoulders, a slightly bouton shaped pearl, approximately 7.5 x 7.1 x 5.3mm, cup and peg set to one side, with a cushion cut diamond, estimated as approximately 1.40ct, claw set to the other. Crossover shoulders, each one grain set with old Swiss cut and old eight cut diamonds to a plain shank. Pearl untested. Diamond assessed as approximately. Colour: M/N Clarity: P2-P3 Finger size L (approximately) CONDITION REPORT: Settings appear secure although the cement holding the pearl may be of some age.Has been sized in the pastLight surface scratches throughout.The pearl is of a medium/dark cream colour. Semi round, medium lustre.Hairline mark, or surfacecrack to the nacre on the underside of the pearl, above the diamond set shoulder.When tilted at an angle, there appears to be a crack in the nacre, but this is not surface reaching, and vanished when the pearl is tilted the opposite way.Stamped PLAT.The shank testing as platinum,

The pendant tested as approximately 15ct gold, the chain as approximately 9ct gold CONDITION REPORT: One break in the chain.Clasp weak.Requires cleaning, this is making the diamond appear dull.

A cased Art Deco, ruby and diamond necklace by the Goldsmiths` and Silversmiths` Company, c.1935, a centrepiece composed of three graduated circular mixed cut rubies and three graduated old brilliant cut diamonds, all claw set in alternate positions, with graduated bars to each side. A `V` shaped articulated top, milligrain set with diamonds to an integral trace chain. Tested as platinum. Fitted case by the Goldsmiths` and Silversmiths` Company Ltd., 112 Regent St., London W1. Original receipt dated June 1938 CONDITION REPORT: Settings secure.No obvious faults.Rubies of good colour, tone and saturation.Diamonds nice and bright.

An Art Deco, three stone diamond Edna May pendant, with three old European cut diamonds, each one milligrain set in a plain collet, articulated to a blade edge bar. The top collet set at the centre of a fine trace chain with half solid bolt ring clasp. Tested as approximately 18ct white gold. Later bolt ring clasp marked 9c CONDITION REPORT: Requires cleaning.Very obvious inclusions in the diamonds under 10x magnification.No obvious faults.

Lot 394

An Art Deco, cultured pearl, diamond and sapphire brooch by Cartier (incomplete), of crescent shaped, fret form. A cultured pearl, cup and peg set to the centre, milligrain set with lines of rose cut diamonds, to a pair of arched links below, channel set with lines of French cut sapphires. Signed `Cartier, Paris`. Brooch framework detachable CONDITION REPORT: The design suggests there was another section below the two sapphire set links. Approximate measurements: 38mm x 21mm, although the wire cap for this pin protudes slightly further. No setting edge at the bottom of the calibre sapphire arches, where the additional section would have been.

The bow loops with pierced laurel sections, milligrain set with rose cut diamonds to two rows of calibr? cut stones. The pin marked 750 CONDITION REPORT: Setting will require checking prior to being worn.Some of the calibre stone have been replaced in the past.
