Edwardian rosewood and inlaid Bedroom Suite, comprising dressing table with triptych mirrors, bow-fronted corner cabinets, centre sunk base, bow-fronted central drawer flanked by four drawers to each pedestal, on plinth bases, 150cms, (4'11"), the matching marble-top wash stand, with arched mirror over and panel of Art Nouveau pottery tiles, 136cms, (4'6"), bow-fronted wardrobe with cupboards and drawers flanked by mirrored doors, 216cms, (7'1") and bedside cabinet, each piece profusely inlaid with satinwood and pen-work bone, with exotic birds, vases of flowers and scrolls, in the manner of Edwards & Roberts. A Robson & Sons mahogany sideboard fitted two drawers to the frieze and two heavy carved panel doors decorated with a cabuchon and stylized serpents fitted Art Nouveau brass handles, flanked by fluted pilasters, raised on bun feet, 52in. x 24in. x 39in. high; together with a matching smaller serving table, fitted two short drawers and a pair of panelled doors, 48in. x 18in. x 34in. high. Scarce St Andrews Golf Co "The Grypta Grip" patent handle blade putter-the unusual patent grip comprises 23 x sections consisting of both leather and rubber rings-the rubber rings project slightly to absorb vibrations and give a better grip-the head is stamped with James Gourlay Crescent Moon and star cleek mark-rare patent not seen very often. Thomas Vesey Patent iron headed metal wood c. 1894-with a full length gutty face insert-the distinct features of this early metal wood shows a very sharp toe, a retaining band at the hosel and a bulbous tapered shaft just 2" above the hosel to give strength to the shaft as it enters the neck, retained with a back screw. The head stamped "Vesey Patent No. 5783 " and fitted with original hide grip with thick underlisting. Note-See Jeff Ellis-"The Clubmakers Art" p. 279 and lot 610 in the Auction catalogue-Guide £2550-3550 - the clubs featured in the Jeff Ellis sale have the more refined features of a later model
Barclay, John Rankine (R A) (1884-1962)-original pen and ink golf etching titled "Sand" signed and dated- depicting player and his caddie playing out of sand dune -printed and dated 1922 and signed in pencil to the border-etching measures 8" x 10"-mf & g overall 13.5 x 15.5". Note Biography: Born Edinburgh, he studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and he was awarded Carnegie travelling Scholarship and The Guthrie ward. He worked in Edinburgh before moving to St Ives in the late 1920s He frequently painted and etched depicting figures in a landscape or a town setting in an individual and often experimental style-he exhibited at Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy and Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours
Riemersma Hayo-original painting of Tiger Woods on board signed and dated 1997, this notable painting was published and illustrated in the Playboy magazine in October 1997-canvas size 26" x 19", mounted and framed 28.75" x 21.75". Note: the portrait of Tiger Woods was one from a series of portraits of sportsmen, especially made for the Dutch edition of Playboy (other portraits were for instance of Henk Angenent, skating, and Jos Verstappen, formula-1 racing). Brief History: Hayo was Born in 1950 The Netherlands, since 1982 continues to live and work just north of Amsterdam. Note: Park was a great early putter and although the book has only 47 pages it is quite significant and this edition is in very good condition
