Novelty Art Deco correspondence box, in the form of a 1930s radio, the hinged cover revealing letter compartments and a calendar stand, bakelite tuning dials for effect, width 24cm, height 29.5cm.Condition report:There are a small number of worm holes to the front and side panels. Some splits to the thin ply panels. General all over wear, particularly noticeable surrounding the knob to the lid. The tuning dial window that would presumably have incorporated a calendar doesn't presently have any calendar cards or the like.
Italian Art Deco alabaster figure, signed Umberto Stiaccini, the female Romany figure modelled against an urn, old damages and repairs, 49cm high.Condition report:The head has been broken off and reattached at the neck. The nose has been reconstructed as have some of the curls of hair. The left arm has been broken and reattached through the upper arm anda wrist. There is also a repaired break through the base of the pedestal and through the figure's ankles. There is also a very evident repaired chip to the back right corner of the base. All over random surface wear, scratching, and discolouration due to the softness of the alabaster.

A JAPANESE KAKIEMON BOWL EDO PERIOD, C.1700The deep body moulded as a five-petalled flower and raised on a short straight foot, richly painted in polychrome enamels with a single bloom to the well and flowering prunus trees and flowers emerging from behind fences to the cavetto; the exterior with a large fruiting pomegranate tree and further flowering prunus issuing from rockwork, 19cm. SAITO TAKASHI (B.1943)HEISEI ERA, DATED 2002A Japanese drawing, pencil on paper, depicting a hand clenched in a tight fist, inscribed lower left margin Te heiseiju yonen ku gatsu matsuhitsu ('Hand, 14th Year of Heisei, I completed this at the end of September'), signed and sealed by Saito Takashi; a paper label at the back repeating the inscription, framed and glazed, 46.50cm x 54.5cm.Figures in Saito Takashi's works are often described as ghost-like, tormented and eerie. Living in almost complete solitude on top of a mountain in Fukushima, Saito first exhibited his work in 1963 at the Yomiuri Independent Exhibition. With no affiliation to any Japanese school, Saito continues to produce and display his idiosyncratic work around the country. In 2020, Sagawara Art Museum dedicated an exhibition to his art and to earthenware pieces by Raku Kichizaemon XV, illustrating their shared interest in depicting the truth of life and the many complexities of the human condition.

Dame Laura Knight DBE, RA, RWS (1877-1970) - Pas de Deux, lithograph, signed by the artist in pencil, 52 x 69.5cm Bolling & Withington 'M' Rare. In Bolling & Withington's catalogue raisonne of Laura Knight's prints "To our knowledge this lithograph is almost an 'unknown piece' and has not been mentioned or described except in the auction where it was sold a few years ago. It is, however in the collection of the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Dublin and another in the National Gallery of Canada. The image, when seen at [life]size is impressive...". Laura Knight's four lithographs of which Pas de Deux is the largest date from around 1924/25. The few recorded examples were printed on 'newsprint quality' paper. The exception would appear to be the unique proof impression of Pas de Deux printed on heavy wove that was with Campbell Fine Art. Art Deco alabaster desk lamp and compendium, the gilt metal banker’s-style lamp on a wide alabaster plinth base with twin alabaster inkwells with removable liners, and pen recesses, partial maker’s label, width 37cm, height 25cm.Condition report:Thee is some loss of gilding to the metal.
