An Art Deco sapphire and diamond brooch, the oval white metal mount millegrain set with a 6mm old brilliant cut diamond to centre, sapphires and diamonds radiating out from the central point in alternating bars and graduating in size, bordered by a further thirteen individually millegrain set old cut diamonds, the whole having an outer line edge frame set with sixty-two diamonds, the yellow metal pin having a retractable safety visor, approximate weight of centre diamond 0.80 carat, overall dimensions 50x28mm, in original box.Condition report:Please see more images. Centre diamond approximately 5.8mm x 3.5mm, four diamonds 3.2mm, thirteen diamonds, remaining diamonds 1.6mm. We do not have a certificate giving colour and clarity, the stones are bright, generally quite clear and white.

He served with the Canadian and British services in both world wars. Captain of Canadian Infantry, 2nd Division; Enlistment: May 5, 1915, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was awarded the M.C. and twice mentioned in despatches. He served with distinction on the battlefields of Flanders, rising to the rank of Major, ultimately becoming Lieut-Colonel.

An Art Deco onyx and diamond dress set, comprising: a pair of cufflinks designed as circular onyx panels each with rose cut diamond border in platinum settings to gold backs, to chain link connections, with four matching dress buttons and two dress studs, in fitted case, circa 1930, width of panels 1.2cmCondition Report: These are made up of a mixture of rose-cut and lasque-cut diamonds, all diamonds appear original to the links, one diamond is lacking to one of the dress buttons. all onyx panels are undamaged. the mounts show some minor wear and general fine scratches to reverse of all links and studs. all the dress buttons are marked 18ct, cufflinks are not marked but match. several panels have scratched stock numbers to the reverse. fitted case is in good condition commensurate with age

There are some minor surface marks/tarnish to the gold mounts, and some very minor scratches/scuffs to the mother of pearl plaques visible under 10x magnification, but no other signs of damage or repair. There are some scuffs to the underside of the case. The buttons and collar studs are set with a French cut sapphire, the cufflinks are set with a square step cut sapphire.
