In the summer of 1944, he left college and booked a week at 'The East Anglian School of Drawing and Painting' at Benton End. He returned at every opportunity for thirty-eight years, retaining his friendship with Cedric Morris and Lett Haines, amongst others. Art Deco sapphire and diamond plaque ring, the shield-shape openwork plaque with a round mixed cut blue sapphire to the centre, surrounded by twenty-eight old cut diamonds in millegrain setting. Tests as platinum. Ring size S CONDITION REPORT Very good condition. Diamonds are reasonably well matched. The largest approximately 2.5mm diameter - smallest 1.3mm diameter. Sapphire is vivid blue, approximately 4.50mm diameter. Setting and shank in very good condition. Little signs of wear. Provenance - by direction of the executors, from a local deceased estate and has been in the same family for generations
Pair late 19th / early 20th century silver plated photograph frames of shaped rectangular form, in the Art Nouveau style, with embossed scene of a fairy being pulled by two swans and floral corners, stamped - Reg'd no. 445897, mounted on a wooden backing with easel struts, 26cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition of silver plate good, some scratching and denting and copper showing through. Wooden backs marked and showing some shrinkage. One easel has been replaced. Other hinge is loose. Corner fastener on one frame has pin missing. Both glasses possible replacements. 26cm high x 18.5cm wide at top, 19.5cm at bottom
