CARL LUDWIG BRANDT (1831-1905). Portrait of Jeremy Francis Gilmer, quarter-length, wearing a grey jacket, signed and dated 1889, oil on canvas, 32 x 25½in. Provenance: The Hutchison Family, Savannah; by descent.This work is believed to be a posthumous portrait of the sitter, possibly commissioned by a member of the Hutchison Family, with whom Gilmer had links. Carl Brandt is known to have painted another posthumous portrait- that one (dateable to 1896) depicted the philanthropist Mary Telfair. It was the bequest of her home to the public as an 'Academy of Arts and Sciences' that allowed the creation of the Telfair Museum of Art, Savannah. Carl Brandt was the first director of the Telfair Museum, serving in that capacity from 1883 until his death in 1905Jeremy F. Gilmer (1818-1883) was an American soldier, map maker and civil engineer, most noted for his service as the Chief Engineer of the Confederate States Army.During the American Civil War, as a major general , he oversaw the planning of the elaborate defences of the City of Atlanta , Georgia

A 9ct gold Art Nouveau pendant set with garnet, with single garnet suspended beneath, stamped '9CT', on a fine chain link necklace, together with a similar yellow metal brooch (unmarked) and a 9ct gold fine link chain necklace (3). CONDITION REPORT: Combined weight of all items approx 5.2g.
An Art Deco parure of yellow metal jewellery, all with matching designs of a central oval white opals, with three rows of two square cut rubies to the top and bottom and four white stones either side, on unmarked yellow metal mounts with pierced design to the back, comprising a bar brooch, length 6cm, with safety chain, ring size R, a necklace pendant with a further two flush fit white stones in white and yellow metal mounts, with necklace hoop, length 5cm, and a bracelet with hinged side brackets of similar design set with a central bar of three cushion set rubies, flanked by white stones top and bottom and at the point, on a yellow metal flat link bracelet, length approx 18cm, all unmarked. CONDITION REPORT: The bracelet hoop has a faint 9ct gold mark. The ring is missing one of the small rubies and one of the clear stones to the right has been with a green-coloured stone. The opals have a very high transparency, with greens and blue flecks and appear to be more transparent than white. The white stones are possibly sapphires.

HELBI; a 1930s Art Deco diamond and palladium cocktail watch, the circular white dial set with raised baton numerals, with crown wind movement, the bezel set with twenty tiny diamonds around the perimeter, with an Art Deco fan bracelet bracket, each with two raised bezel set diamonds and four small inset diamonds, on an oval and hoop 9ct white gold strap, the inner head case marked 'Palladium' and the strap is marked '375'. CONDITION REPORT: Approx 14.1g. At the time of cataloguing, the watch appears to be in going order, however this is no guarantee of working order. It has been worn and there is tiny discolouration to the face, as well as tiny scratches under magnification to the glass. Otherwise a good looking watch.

ROYAL LANCASTRIAN POTTERY; a William Slater Mycock decorated art pottery vase of ovoid form and short slender neck, decorated with galleons sat on waves, with a red and gilt lustre, impressed factory mark to base and decorated initials, height 26cm. CONDITION REPORT: Light surface scratches and crazing visible to the body. Otherwise ok with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
Decorative art pottery to include an Art Nouveau inspired onion-shaped vase, possibly Continental, in 'Cleo' pattern depicting an Art Nouveau style lady walking on a path, height approx 33cm, a Royal Doulton 'Blue Children' twin-handled urn-shaped vase, height 14cm, a Royal Crown Derby 'Old Imari 1128' pattern plate, diameter 27cm and a Mary Gregory style cranberry glass vase with enamelled decoration depicting girl with flowers in field, height 26cm (4). CONDITION REPORT: The Imari plate is in good condition. The Art Nouveau vase has heavy crazing throughout, seam visible to the neck and rubbing to gilt rim. Small impact mark to body., only appears to have damaged decoration/glaze. Glass vase has minor chips to rim. Black and White vase has rubbing to gilding, otherwise appears ok.
