British WW1 Memorial picture Frame & Hand-coloured Photo of Pte. J. Lawson of Whitby, 1st Grenadier Guards, 1914 Kitchener Volunteer. On the reverse are various press-cuttings describing the circumstances of the death of Pte. Lawson. These being that he was in a dugout with 2 comrages when it was hit by a shell. Also, that this actual frame was designed & made by Sir John Lawson, & that it would be on public display in a shop window in Whitby for a few days.
