The grandmother used to buy at Christie's, so that may be where they came from - possibly purchased 1970's-80's.
A Tibetan silver and gold inlaid copper alloy figure of Amitayus/Amitabha, c.15th century, seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with beaded rim, holding the kalasa, wearing jewellery and headdress, with silver and gold inlay to the garments on his legs, the forehead with a central raised urna, crowned with a foliate tiara, H. 20.5cmex Dennis Ward collection.cf. a Tibetan copper alloy seated figure of Tara, dated to the 13th–15th century, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Accession Number: 1987.142.357 which also has gold and silver inlaid decoration. The form of Amitayus is also comparable to the central figure in a trinity also in the Metropolitan Museum, Accession no. 1979.507.1. dated to 15th century Tibet.
A Royal Flying Corp ( RFC ) World War 1 ( WW1 ) aluminum Trench Art easel picture frame, having chase decoration with Royal Flying Corp logo to top and "PER ARDUA AD ASTRA ( Through Adversity To The Stars ). The photo within the frame depicting a RFC WW1 crash sight, showing a Sopwith pup/ camel upside down in a vegetable patch, with the family and two men in uniform stood in front of the plane, one possible being the pilot. The frame itself believed to be constructed from the aluminum taken from the plane.Measures 7cm x 9cm.
