Art Deco Group of six early 20th Century decanters and an Art Deco mirrored and glass tray, circa 1920-40 Glass, white metal, mirrored glass, nickel Square form decanter with acid etched mark to base 'Importe de Tchecoslaviquie', another decanter with applied label 'Cristal de Boheme' Tallest decanter : 35cm high ; Tray : 42cm x 27cm Condition Report: Tall faceted decanter : Tarnish marks, patination and general surface scratches to silver collar. Stopper with some three small flea bite chips to facet corners, bottom of stopper has broken and some pint leaving a rough edge. Minor flea bite nicks to cut glass on body. Glass with interior marks and patination. Decanter with geometric design and silver collar : Stopper with one very minor flea bite nick, collar with even tarnishing and light wear throughout, some very minor nicks to edges of facets, water marks to interior Cylindrical faceted decanter : Some miniscule flea bite nicks to top edges of decanter. Bottom of stopper has been ground to one side and with some minor chips to bottom edge. There is a chip to shoulder approx. 1cm wide. Only minor faint surface wear to body. Faceted decanter with silver collar : Miniscule flea bite nicks to stopper. Collar with tarnish marks and patination with light surface wear. Body with only light surface wear. Water marks to interior. Painted square form Czech decanter : Stopper with miniscule flea bite nicks. Miniscule flea bite to rim, small chip approx. 4mm to one upper painted panel. Rubbing, scratches and wear to some gilding/painted decoration. Some miniscule nicks to body. Cristal De Boheme painted decanter : Some miniscule nicks to stopper, minor chips to rim, some light overall general surface wear to include some faint scratches, some water marks to interior base. Tray - Mirrored plate with general surface wear to include scratches and scuffs with some small losses to silvering on reverse of plate, metal parts with patination and marks throughout. Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) Jeunesse Franco Allemande, from an edition of 5, circa 1963 Partially glazed earthenware With signature and inscription 'Villefranche, Jean Cocteau' (lower right edge), marked and numbered 'Edition originale de Jean Cocteau, Atelier Madeline Jolly, 5/5' to verso 36cm diameter Provenance Coskun Fine Art, where purchased by the current owner, circa 2010 Literature Annie Guédras, 'Jean Cocteau : Céramiques, catalogue raisonné', Teillet-Dermit, Paris, 1989, page 109, plate 164 Foot Note The present lot, produced in the final year of Cocteau's life, is one of a limited edition of five, with only one other recorded example produced outside of this edition reserved for a Mr. Jean Moreau. Jean Cocteau was a seminal figure in the history of art in the 20th century who, as a creative polymath, worked across a variety of media, including literature, visual arts and film. In the latter part of his life, he turned his hand to ceramics, taking on an 'apprenticeship' under Marie Madeline Jolly and Philippe Madeline in their studio in Villefranche-sur-Mer, where he went onto create up to 300 works, including the present lot.

Some pitting to lily pads most likely from manufacture.

Metal chains with oxidisation marks and patination throughout. Ceiling rose appears to be non-associated, with general surface wear and patination, with some small dents to rim and paint marks.

Charles Terry Pledge (British, 1887-1992), London City scene, original dry-point etching, signed in pencil to lower right. Framed and glazed. Pledge was a British architect. His work was part of the architecture event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympics. 20cm x 24.5cm.
