FIVE CARVED OCEANIA TRIBAL ART ITEMS, comprising a Maori adze handle, with stylised human figure, approximate length 39.5cm, two paddle shaped clubs, one with carved decoration, approximate length 82cm, another club with saw like edge, approximate length 54cm and one with jagged head, approximate length 73cm (sd) (5) Condition Report These items have come to us as part of a large estate clearance. The deceased vendor or family must have travelled, the fossils and shells in the auction are also from the same estate. There are several splits in the wood, no repair is visible to the handle or figure but we cannot confirm there is damage or repair under the woven rope bands where the stone would slot in. It weighs 428.2 grams. It doesn't feel as heavy as some hardwoods but has carved well. We have two stones but neither fit in the slot well
