Sticker verso- Royal Society of Arts 1966 Charles White was a Welsh post-war artist whose works are characterised by large, thick brushstrokes and dark palettes. His work is held in the National Library of Wales, National Museum of Wales and Newport Museum and Art Gallery.
Yvonne Mottet (French, Parisian School 1906-1968), Les Langoustines, oil on board, signed bottom right. Measurements 38 x 46 cm, framed measurements 56.5 x 64.5 cm Previously Exhibited at the Adams Gallery, London 1955 Yvonne Mottet was a French artist who was part of the 'Jeune Peinture' movement and School of Paris, studying under Francois Desnoyer. In 1927 she joined the drawing studio at Rue Tourlaque founded by Ducharne Silk Works together with her husband Bernard Lorjou. During the Great Depression the studio closed and couple enjoyed independant artistic success based in Paris. In the post World War Two period Mottet argued strongly for a return to realism, rejecting abstract and contemporary style art.

Measurements 30 x 21 cm (i), framed measurements 50 x 40 cm (2) Colin Paul (1892-1985) was a French poster artist who spent much of his career working in the theatre world, creating posters, costumes and sets. He was a student of Eugene Vallin and Victor Prouve and partner of Josephine Baker. Paul's style is typically seen as Art Deco during his earlier years, gradually becoming much more individual and personal in nature. He is widely acknowledged as a master of the modern school in poster art. (Qty: 2)
Adrian Hill (British, 20th Century 1895-1977), Home Guard, Watercolour and pencil, Signed bottom right and verso with date 1943, inscribed bottom left 'the corporal gives a talk to the LDV on the Tommy Gun, Midhurst 1940', mounted, unframed Adrian Hill was a British 20th Century artist who was most famous for his work as a war artist and his pivotal role in the creation and promotion of art as therapy. He studied at the St. John's Wood Art School and later at the Royal College of Art, going on to teach at the Hornsey School of Art and Westminister School of Art. Hill was elected President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1968 and his art style combined elements of impressionism and surrealism. He served in the honourable artiliery company during World War One, the first artist to be commissioned by the Imperial War Museum to record first-hand conflict on the Western Front. During a period of convalesance whilst suffering from Tuburculosis he began to teach drawing and painting to other patients, including injured soldiers and was instrumental in setting up an art programme as art therapy for patients. He also set up a scheme with the British Red Cross to lend copies of famous pictures to hospitals and organised a lecture series.
Michael Landy RA YBA (British Contemporary), Break Down, Art Angel Poster Print, framed. Measurements 73 x 103 cm, framed measurements 77 x 107 cm Break Down is one of Michael Landy's (British Contemporary, Young British Artists) best known works. In 2001 he teamed up with Art Angel to carry out a radical art concept; the destruction of all of his personal possessions in a public space, totalling 7,227 items. The project took place in an empty shop in Oxford Street, London and each of his belongings were placed in yellow plastic trays on a conveyor belt to be destroyed. It took over 2 weeks to complete. To mark this accomplishment this poster was gifted by Art Angel to its members as a reward for their support.

Feliks Topolski (1907-1989) was a Polish born artist who became a British citizen in 1947, spending the rest of his life in London where he maintained a studio near to Waterloo station. He studied art at the Warsaw Academy before moving to the UK in 1935 to complete a commission recording King George V's silver jubilee. He was appointed as an official war artist during World War Two, travelling abroad to paint numerous battles including the Battle of Britain. In 1959 Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, commissioned Topolski to create a mural of Elizabeth II's coronation which comprised 114 friezes of the procession. Topolski achieved success in his own lifetime, known for his pictoral record of policical and social events, particularly his Chronicles , and also completed many portraits of well-known figures including H.G. Wells, Harold Macmillan, Aneurin Bevan and Winston Churchill.

He began his working life in ship building before studying at the Cleveland College of Art and Design and the Byam Shaw College of Art in London. Upon his return to the North, Thorpe founded the Arthaus gallery in Richmond. His work is predominantly abstract, ranging from more accessible figures to challenging pieces exploring themes such as isolation and human struggle, many influenced by his childhood growing up in working-class North East. He has received a number of honours including an Honorary Masters Degree from Teeside University and an Honorary Professorship from Seisa University in Japan. Thorpe was appointed as the official artist for 2019 Tour de Yorkshire and in 2019 launched a world tour 'From the Heart' to as a 30 year retrospective.

She graduated from St. Martin's School of Art and has made a successful career as a childrens book illustrator and poet. In 2002 she won the Invention and Innovation award from WESTA for her project 40 Years comprising 40 abstract paintings that represented the emotional impact of each year of her life. (Qty: 1)
Ethelbert White (British 1891-1972), Netley Mill, wood engraving, 1920s, signed bottom left, titled and numbered 7/50 bottom right in pencil, mounted and framed. Ethelbert White (1891-1972) was a British artist who was influenced by the post-impressionists in France and had leanings towards the British avant-garde artists. He was a founding member of the English Wood Engraving Society, member of the Society of Wood Engravers, as well as being elected to the Royal Watercolour Society, London Group and New English Art Club. He came to wood engraving in 1920s but, despite his success, ceased working in this medium after a decade or so. He illustrated a number of books, the most successful being The Story of My Heart by Richard Jeeferies and Spenser's Wedding Songs , published by the Golden Cockerel Press. He spent much of the 1920s roaming Surrey and Sussex in a horse-drawn gypsy caravan with his wife, and following his retirement of wood engraving worked predominantly in oil and watercolour, regularly exhibiting at the Royal Academy. Colin Graham Frederick Hayes RA (British 20th Century, 1919-2003), Landscape, oil on canvas, framed. Measurements 50 x 75.5 cm, framed measurements 66.5 x 91.5 cm Colin Hayes was a British artist from London who predominantly painted in oils and watercolour. He served in the army during World War Two, being wounded in North Africa and during the Normandy landings. Post-war he studied art at the Bath School of art and Ruskin School of Drawing. He then took up a post at the Royal College of Art, teaching alongside Ruskin Spear and John Minton until his retirement. In 1962 he was elected to the council of the Royal Society of British Artists, becoming the President and in 1970 he was elected to the Royal Academy. He has works in the collections of the Arts Council England, Imperial War Museum, British Council and Government Art Collection.

He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art 1941-1944, under Schwale and Allan Gwynne-Jones, going on to become the Senior Art Master at Highgate School in London. Kyffin Williams is best known for his signature contrasting sombre palette, depicting Welsh landscapes and especially cottages, characteristically using a palette kniffe and thick impasto paint. He did also undertake a number of portraits, being awarded the 1963 Winston Churchill fellowship to record the life of the Welsh in Patagonia, an experience who recorded in his book A Wider Sky . Kyffin Williams spent much of his time in Gwynedd, becoming the Deputy Lieutenant of the county, before retiring to Anglesey in 1973. A highly celebrated artist in his own time, he was awarded numerous accolades including an OBE 1982, Knighthood 1999, an honorary Masters Degree from the University of Wales, President of the Royal Cambrian Academy, elected to the Royal Academy and Royal Society of British Artists. Francis Kelly (American, 1927-2012), The Ribbon, Etching 6/40, signed bottom right, mounted and framed. Measurements 32.5 x 18 cm, framed measurements 55.2 x 39.4 cm Francis Kelly (1927-2012) was an American artist from Minnesota. He studied at the University of Hawaii and also under the printmaker John Paul Jones at the UCLA, before arriving in London in the 1950s having been awarded the Fulbright Grant to undertake a diploma in etching. He had success with etchings, regularly showing his work at Editions Graphiques. Kelly also studied painting conservation at the Courtauld Institute and was commissioned to aid in the restoration of flood damaged art in Florence. Kelly is well known for his representations of the female form and landscapes inspired by his love of the Devonshire countryside.

He has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe and in 1992 was prize winner at the La Federation Nationale de la culture Francaise. He has works in both the Royal Cornwalls Museum and Falmouth Art Gallery.

He is characterised as an expressionist painter, with many high-profile artist connections and influences including John Piper, Michael Rothenstein, John Nash and Arthur Boyd. He was awarded the Barcham Green Award in 1986 for one of his paintings exhibited in the Bankside Gallery in London
Neville Weston (British 20th-21st Century, 1936-2017), Street Scene, oil on canvas, signed bottom left, dated '08. Measurements 76 x 101.5 cm, framed measurements 79.5 x 104.5 cm Neville Weston (1936-2017) was a figurative painter and a key figure in the Liverpool avante garde art scene, closely associated with Adrian Henri and Keith Arnatt. He relocated to Australia in the 1970s, accepting a number of art lecturing positions at various universities, he was appointed the Dean of Visual Art in Perth, before becoming a Professor in Art History at James Cook University. He has written extensively and published works on subjects regarding Australian art. His paintings of Australian landscapes are widely praised and he has been exhibited across Australia and North West Europe. Weston returned to the UK for the final decade of his life, continuing to paint and exhibit his work until his death in 2017.
