A MID VICTORIAN JOSEPH HARRIS OF BIRMINGHAM 'THE IMPERIAL' TREADLE SEWING MACHINE, serial no 4927, gilt transfer decoration, rectangular walnut cover over the double arm machine and raised accessories box, steel and black painted cast iron strand with feet outline pedal, width 66cm x depth 39cm x height including cover 89.5cm, comes with a small number of sewing machine accessories and a letter from Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery, dated 1970 relating to not being able to provide any instruction or catalogues for Joseph Harris Sewing Machines, it mentions the first and last entries of the firm in Birmingham trade directories as 1871-1879 and included a copy of an advert for the Imperial sewing machines from an early directory.

Suling Wang (1968, Taiwanese), oil on canvas, Mute swans flying over a lake, 242.5 x 200.5cm signed and inscribed verso 1999 95.5 x 79in.CONDITION: Oil on canvas in honest untouched condition, some fine but stable craquelure running through the paint, looks to be a little dirty, some of the canvas has been left barely painted particularly up the top where the swans are flying, there is a thin scratch running from the top down approximately 15 inches half way between the top left corner and 12 o'clock running down from the top to just below the two orange dash marks, what looks to be scattered brown dirt specks running across the lower half of the work with a horizontal line of stippled blackish dirt specks running approximately a quarter of the way, this work will certainly benefit from a good clean, signed and dated by the artist verso, no framed.Comes for sale from a Corporate Art Collection.
