§ Harry Barr (British, 1896-1987) Norfolk lanes; and Epping Forest the first signed lower left ""Harry Barr, 1957, Norfolk""; the second signed ""Harry Barr, Epping, 1948"" watercolour (a pair) 35 x 45cm (14 x 18in) Harry Barr studied under Walter Sickert at Westminster School of Art, and Sickert remained an artistic mentor and a friend until his death in 1942. Barr was also good friends from childhood with David Bomberg (they both grew up in Whitechapel in the East End of London) until Bomberg`s death in 1957. Harry Barr`s first London exhibition was held in a Bloomsbury gallery in January, 1920. Later in that year he moved to Paris. In Paris he befriended the sculptor Ossip Zadkine, who helped him find a studio. He had his first exhibition of oil paintings in Paris at the Galerie Mouninou on the Rue Marbeuf. Condition is fine.
An Art Deco oak cabinet, the circular glazed two door top section above two drawers and cupboard doors below, bookshelves to one side and a fall front cupboard to the other 170 x 114 x 46cm (66 x 44 x 18in) the cabinet was a gift to the current owner, and by repute was made in the Heals workshop Generally in good condition. There is a crack to the glazing on the right hand door at the bottom. There is an areas of very light veneer to the upper left hand edge (see image). Otherwise, in good condition.
A quantity of 1930s Shelley Harmony drip ware in orange and green colourway, comprising a tall Art Deco jug, two matching tea plates, an onion vase, a gourd preserve pot and lid and a powder bowl and lid (6). CONDITION REPORT: One of the tea plates has a small scratch, otherwise the items are in good condition. Height of jug is 30cm.
An Edwardian Art Nouveau walnut two tier occasional table by Lamb of Manchester, the shaped rectangular top above galleried undertier and pierced fan shaped frieze on four outsplayed fluted supports, stamped to underside, height 66cm, width of top 76cm. CONDITION REPORT: There is a split running the length of the top about 5cm in from the sides, otherwise typical wear and tear as one would expect, one or two issues with the pierced frieze, a couple of cracks and two pieces of wood missing.
A collection of predominantly 1940s/50s scale models and other toys including Castle Art Gaiety toy clockwork racing car, Crescent police car, boxed Penguin plastic racer, Minic clockwork flatbed truck, boxed Minic jeep, boxed traffic lights by Indestructible Toy Craft, Express card game, Giro-top etc.
ALEXANDER KELETY (died 1940); an Art Deco cold painted bronze and ivory figure group of a young girl pushing a doll within a stroller followed by a puppy, raised on a variegated rectangular onyx base, signed, length 30cm, height 23cm. CONDITION REPORT: This has been in the same family for a number of years. The head is present but detached and there are several natural hairline cracks running vertically through the face. The stroller is detached and the two pegs which held it to the base have been broken/filed off. There is some light rubbing to the raised parts and the base has a chip to one corner and various other small chips and knocks throughout.
A cased Art Deco George V hallmarked silver backed and blue guilloche enamel five piece dressing table set, comprising pair of hand brushes, hand mirror and two clothes brushes, Adie Bros Ltd, Birmingham 1928. CONDITION REPORT: In need of a clean but generally in good condition. The fitted case has a recess for a comb which is missing.
An Art Deco George V hallmarked silver and blue enamel backed six piece dressing table set comprising hand mirror, hand brush, two clothes brushes, circular box and cover and clock (lacking easel) and a silver mounted faux tortoiseshell comb to match. CONDITION REPORT: One of the clothes brushes has a large 1" x 0.5" chip to the edge, surface wear throughout, generally in good condition.
An early 20th century Russian silver topped and leather mounted notebook, engraved with Art Nouveau floral and linear motifs with gilt washed parts, maker "PA", Moscow, 23.5 x 13cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are a few pages missing, the rest is blank. In good condition, the leather mounting has traces of wear particularly to the corners, also the pencil is missing. The silver cover is in good condition.
An indenture on hand-laid paper between Lionel Cranfield, First Earl of Middlesex, and Thomas Howard, Twenty First Earl of Arundel, dated 17th August 1641, refers to the assignment of land from the Sons of Arundel to the Earls of Midlessex of lands in Kenning Hall and Halvergate in Norfolk and Sussex, eight large sheets, written in contemporary legal hand. Both Middlesex and Arundel were important figures in the Court of King Charles I in the period leading up to the last English Civil War. Arundel was a great art collector and made this assignment shortly before leaving for Europe, prior to the outbreak of the Civil War.

A 1920s/30s Art Deco marble mantel clock with a bronze and ivory maiden surmount modelled by Cipriani, the square dial bearing stylised Art Deco Arabic numerals and inscribed "Leduc Boulogne Mer", surrounded by black and striated blonde marble, height 42cm, width 48cm. CONDITION REPORT: Left hand repaired. Split to right hand. Minor chips to edges of clock case. We believe it is bronze and ivory.
