Bedeutende Jugendstil-Schmuckdose, deutsch ,Bruckmann/Heilbronn um 1900, 800er Silber, Entwurf: CARL STOCK, Modell 6881, erstmals gefertigt um 1898 und auf der Weltausstellung 1900 in Paris präsentiert. Carl Stock 1876- 1945, Bildhauer, Zeichner, Medailleur und Kunsthandwerker, künstlerischer Leiter der Silberwarenfabrik P. Bruckmann & Söhne. Im Detail handelt es sich hier um eine rechteckige Scharnier-Deckeldose, die mit ihren leicht geschweiften, verlaufenden Kantendem goldenen Schnitt verpflichtet ist. Alle Kanten sind leicht dynamisch geschweift, wo bei eine große, aber dennoch verhaltene Lebendigkeit entsteht. Die gesamte Form und Friesgestaltung ist vom floralen französischen Jugendstil geprägt. Mittelpunkt bildet ein ovales Mädchengesicht, das mit seinen halb geschlossenen Augen nach innen blickend auf einem Mohnblütengeflecht schwimmt und damit Tod, Schlaf und geschärftes Diesseits als Gegenspiel des Todes unmittelbar wiedergibt. Die hutähnliche, geöffnete Tulpenblüte, die das Mädchenhaupt bekrönt, wird durch die geschlossene Tulpenblüte auf dem Deckel in derSymbolik von Reichtum und Vergänglichkeit unmittelbar sichtbar, wobei die beiden Akanthusstränge der Deckelhabe die Momente von göttlicher Vergangenheit noch weiter unterstreichen. Die beiden Seiten sind wie die Hauptfelder mit Mohnblüten ausgestaltet. Die Libellen - Seelentiere der Antike - durchbrechen die Trapezform und setzen damit ihre Eigendynamik in höchstem Lebenswillen fort. Die Grundform der Dose selbst lässt fast eine Pyramide entstehen, die als Form Horus und Seth des alten Ägypten aufleben lässt. Die Vergoldung innen und die Silbergestaltung außen gehen unmittelbar auf Selene und Helios in ihrer Farbigkeit zurück. Die Jugendstilschmuckstücke, die sich letztlich in diesem Kästchen wiederfinden sollen, sind von der Antike her gesehen göttlichen Ursprungs. So stellt das Schmuckkästchen eine kleine Bildungsreise durch unsere abendländische Kultur dar. An oval girls face with its half closed inward looking eyes floats on a poppy mesh and reflects directly death, sleep and heightened this world as deaths counterpart. The hat-like, opened tulip, that crowns the girls head, becomes visible by the closed tulip on the cover, that symbolizes wealth and transience.
