Sympathetically rebound gilt on green cloth boards in original style with photocopy endpapers. thus looks new. ff show light foxing. faint stamp to title page, several other school-library stamps. This is the first of Lawrence Green`s early titles published in prewar London. The `Coast Of Treasure` alluded to in the title is the coast of what was then German South West Africa, now Namibia. The author ranges further than that, from Table Bay to St Helena, Ascension Island, the Southern Ocean islands including Tristan Da Cunha, Gough, Thompson & Lindsay, Kergeulen, Hog, Possession, St Paul, & Bouvet Islands. A Quarter Repeating Pair Cased Repousse Pocket Watch, signed Jams Tanqueray, London, circa 1770, gilt fusee verge movement, hammer striking on a bell, enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, repousse outer case with figural scene of animals and pierced borders, maker`s mark DA, inner case with pierced floral and mask sides, 47mm wide 17.05.13, Outer case with some small splits to the figures heads and rubbing to the high relief surfaces, outer case when closed is slightly springing open, inner case with surface scratches, bezel with a vacant aperture around the 6 o`clock position, dial has been totally re-enamelled, hands are later, movement not working at present, balance starts ticking when moving the watch from side to side.
