A pair of rare large cinnabar lacquer double-gourd 'Daji' vasesQianlongBoth vases with slightly flattened sides and narrow waist, rising from rectangular feet detailed with narrow bands, the upper bulbs set with a central medallion to either side enclosing the Da character on a gilt-lacquer ground bordered by mother-of-pearl, the lower bulb with a Ji character within similarly decorated medallions, all reserved on finely carved scrolling lotus blooms and the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, on a wan diaper ground, attached zitan stands. 48cm (18 7/8in) high. The style developed under the ruler's guidance at the Imperial workshops is easily recognisable in its combination of opulence and carving precision. The characters Da Ji express the wish for good fortune and are frequently used to decorate objects bearing a double-gourd shape. The bottle gourd itself is associated with the Daoist Immortals, particularly with Li Tieguai who used the gourd as a container for medicine. The pairing of the bottle gourd with the Da Ji characters thus creates a particularly auspicious object.Double-gourd vases of slightly flattened form and inlaid with mother of pearl are quite rare. Paul McCartney commemorative envelope signed by Klaus Voormann and Jürgen Vollmer. Jürgen Vollmer (born 11 July 1939), with Astrid Kirchherr and Klaus Voormann (the "Exis"), befriended the Beatles during the band's time in Hamburg in the early 1960s. The son of a professional army officer who died during World War II, Vollmer was attending Hamburg's Institute of Fashion at the time he met the Beatles, who at the time included drummer Pete Best and bassist Stu Sutcliffe. Vollmer quickly became one of the group's photographers, and was responsible for some of their most iconic images in their leather-clad days prior to Brian Epstein. John Lennon was particularly impressed with Vollmer's photos, and used one of his favourites on the cover of his 1975 album Rock 'n' Roll. During the time Vollmer lived in the US, he worked as a set photographer in several Hollywood film productions. Klaus Voormann (born 29 April 1938) is a German artist, musician, and record producer. He designed artwork for many bands including the Beatles, Harry Nilsson, the Bee Gees, Wet Wet Wet and Turbonegro. Voormann's most notable work as a producer was his work with the band Trio, including their worldwide hit "Da Da Da". As a musician, Voormann is best known for being the bassist for Manfred Mann from 1966 to 1969, and for performing as a session musician on a host of recordings, including "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon, Lou Reed's Transformer album, and on many recordings of the former members of the Beatles. His final naval appointment was as the Flag Officer Royal Yachts (FORY), in command of HMY Britannia 1961-1965.David Boyd (1924-2011) was one of the most iconic and significant Australian artists of the 20th century whose talent strengthened the family's artistic dynasty. Boyd's primary focus was colonial history and he created many works relating to the history of aboriginal Tasmanians in Australia. Some of these works caused controversy amongst contemporary Australian critics but his fluid landscape paintings captured emotion through colour and became renowned with the Boyd artistic dynasty. Through splashes of colour the artist has captured the children playing in the pass through the mountains creating an almost dreamlike effect with white cockatoos swooping down around their heads. Boyd loved to experiment and discovered a method of using candle flame in 1966. He named the technique Sfumato, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci who had used the word to describe graduations of misty tones.

Ohne Rahmen Tizian hat nach Giorgiones frühem Tod das unvollendete Gemälde fertiggestellt und die Landschaft hinzugefügt. Scherf, Louis (1870-1955), seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts Porzellanmaler in Lichte-Thüringen. Erhielt 1904 eine Goldmedaille auf der Weltausstellung in St. Louis. Landkarte von Thüringen: "Thuringae. Nova Descriptio", mit Titelkartusche und Meilenzeiger; aus: "Gerhard Mercator: Atlas. Das ist Abbildung der gantzen Welt mit allen darin begriffenen Laendern und Provintzen", 1633. Diese Karte war wohl für den Einzelverkauf bestimmt, da der rückseitige Text fehlt Niederländischer Kartograf, Verleger und Hersteller von Globen. Er führte die Herausgabe der Mercator-Hondius-Atlanten fort.
