Ca. 1368-1644 AD. Chinese Ming Dynasty. An elaborately crafted female attendant figure dressed in a bright green dress with yellow cuffs, and a deep blue over-dress, and red shoes. The attendant also sports an elaborate coiffure and carries a teapot in one hand and what appears to be a mat over her right shoulder. During the Ming Dynasty the Chinese art industry flourished and the production of ceramic and porcelain pieces increased exponentially. Figures of this type were particularly popular during the Ming artistic revival which placed great importance on depicting aspects of Chinese political and social life including warriors, servants and ladies of high status. A George III Silver Teapot, by John Foskett and John Stewart, London, 1809, circular and on four paw feet, the sides part fluted, engraved with a crest, with later carved handle and hinged cover, 27cm wide over handle, gross weight 30oz 10dwt, 947gr. Fully marked underneath. The cover marked with date letter and lion passant only. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving and the high points.
A Three-Piece Victorian Silver Tea-Service, by Thomas Bradbury, London, 1891, each piece oval and with gadrooned borders, engraved with initials 'MDP', comprising: a teapot with ebonised wood handle; a cream-jug and a sugar-bowl, the teapot 22.5cm wide over handle, gross weight 20oz 4dwt, 627gr (3) . Each piece fully marked near handle, the teapot further part marked inside cover. The marks have some minor wear but are generally clear. There is some minor areas of fire-scale on the surface and some loss to the finish on the wood handle of the teapot.

Each piece marked near handle. The teapot and hot-water jug further part marked inside cover. There is some wear to the marks, though they are generally still legible. Each piece further stamped 'Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Street W' underneath. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some bruises, most obvious to one side of the hot-water jug. The lower wood handle juntion on the teapot is detached.
A George V Silver Teapot, by Russells Ltd., London, 1916, baluster and on spreading shaped foot, the foot and rim each with foliage and shell cast border, with ebonised wood handle, the hinged cover with wood finial, 27cm wide over handle, gross weight 25oz 18dwt, 806gr. Fully marked near handle and further part marked inside cover. There are some surface scratches and wear overall as well as some bruising. The handle and finial are differing colour suggesting that one is replaced.

Fully marked on body near handle. The cover and handle each further marked with lion passant. The marks are generally clear. Further stamped '4617' over '3' underneath. There are some overall surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. The ivory insulators are somewhat discoloured and cracked.

The teapot and sugar-bowl each rock slightly when placed on a flat surface.

A Chinese early 18th century blue and white tea bowl and saucer, circa 1725, from the Ca Mau wreck, both pieces decorated with figures before a willow tree and pagodas, each with applied Sothebys label inscribed Ca Mau Binh Thuan. Diameters 7 cm and 11.5 cm. NOTE: The Ca Mau was a Chinese merchants junk on its way from Canton (Guang Zho) to the Dutch trading port of Batavia (Jakarta), a severe fire on board caused the vessel to sink (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The tea bowl has a tiny flea bite chip to the glaze on the rim but is otherwise in good condition. A Chinese Porcelain Coffee Pot and Cover, Qianlong, after a European metalware original, of cylindrical form with scroll moulded side handle and spout, painted in iron red, puce and gilt with flowersprays and scattered sprigs within a green and purple meander border, 19cm high; A Matching Teapot and Cover, 15.5cm high; and A Similar Cylindrical Mug, painted in famille rose enamels with figures in a garden within underglaze blue and gilt borders, 12.5cm high (3). The coffee pot with a small chip to the rim of the cover and with slight fretting to the spout the teapot has a chip to the rim of the main body. The tankard has a small rim chip, no restoration at all to any of the three pieces.
A Chinese Porcelain Wine Pot and Cover, Kangxi, of ogee rectangular form with overhead handle, painted in underglaze blue with figures in a river landscape, 17cm high; A Similar Double-Walled Reticulated Bottle Vase, painted in underglaze blue with stylised foliage, 15cm high; and A Hexafoil Teapot Stand, Qianlong, painted in underglaze blue with a river landscape, 12.5cm diameter (3). The cover to the wine pit is original. Much of the inner flange of the cover is lacking, and there's a flat chip to the underside of the rim. The main body of the wine pot has some fritting to the glaze, a hair crack across the base, but it's free from any other damage and restoration. The reticulated vase has a long flat chip near the top rim. Some glaze fritting and loss to one of the pierced panels. The teapot stand is in good condition.
A William Greatbatch Creamware Teapot, circa 1770, printed and overpainted with The Prodigal Son, 10cm high; and A Creamware Mug, circa 1780, of cylindrical form, transfer printed and painted with a pugilist scene titled Humphrey & Mendoza, 13cm high (2). The tea pot is missing its cover. There is a chip to the end of the spout and the glaze is crazed to the inside and out. The tankard is completely missing its handle. There are two triangular sections to the rim missing and one has an associated long crack to the length of the body. There are numerous bad chips around the foot rim. The pot is quite badly stained to the base inside and out.
George IV silver teapot by Simon Levy, Exeter 1825, approx 19.5oz - Condition Report Hallmarks rubbed on the body - makers mark readable and there is a subsequent hallmark on the underside of the lid. Overall good condition - well presented and good shape. Lid and hinge are good (a very slight wobble at the hinge). A few dents to the body and to the base around the rim (none have pierced through). Structurally sound. The spout finial is rough to the touch wear and tear.
