An Elijah Mayer black basalt Nelson commemorative teapot and cover: of rounded rectangular form decorated with a shell shaped panel containing a vignette of Britannia and an angel engraving a plaque 'Nelson Oct 21' before and obelisk and verso with trophies of war, a banner captioned 'Trafalgar' and a Naval Ensign flanked by a pyramid and a fort on a moulded vermiculi ground below a Greek key band, circa 1805, 27 cm long.*Notes - An identical teapot is illustrated Black Basalt, Diana Edwards, plate 296, page 199.
