Four Pearlware teapots printed in underglaze blue with landscape scenes, (8) The tallest teapot measures 14cm high Condition report from left to right top to bottom: 1:Small nicks to edge of cover, chip to spout, crazing. 2: Spout restuck, hairlines to base, chip to cover, crazing. 3: Three chips to the cover, chip to spout and to kick of handle, short hairline to rim, crazing. 4: Yellowing restoration to cover, rim, spout and handle, crazing.
Four Staffordshire teapots three printed in brown transfer with polychrome enamelling, the forth printed in underglaze blue with swan finial, early 19th century (8) The tallest teapot measures 16cm high Condition report from left to right, top to bottom of main image: 1: Restoration to the base, spout, chips on the rim. Hairline to cover. 2: Restoration to the cover, spout and a rim chip. Short hairline to rim. 3: Two chips to the spout, one to the inner rim and one to the inner rim. Short hairline to rim. 4: Hairlines to bass, to the spout, chip to the rim and to the face of the cover. Crazing to all.
Six early 19th century teapots painted and printed with various designs in underglaze colours (12) The tallest teapot measures 13.5cm high Condition report from left to right, top to bottom of main image: 1: Two small chips to spout, and to underside of cover. 2: Two chips to the edge of cover, one to the rim, one to the spout, short hairline to rim. 3: The lid, handle, restuck with filling, filled chip to the spout. 4: Handle restuck, several cracks to body. Chip to the spout edge, restoration to the cover. 5: Three rim chips, spout chip, short base hairline. Rim restoration to the cover and finial. 6: Three chips to spout, multiple chips to edge of cover. Chip to base. Crazing and some staining to most pieces.
Seth Pennington Liverpool teaset circa 1785 painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red, comprising of a teapot, Chelsea ewer, two bowls, six teabowls and saucers, (17) The teapot measures 16cm high Condition report: Teapot: 5mm chip and associated crack to the lid, minor firing crack to spout. Some peppering. Ewer: several minor rim nicks otherwise ok. Large bowl: rim hairline crack. Small bowl body crack to centre. Teabowls: Three bowls are ok, two bowls have rim hairlines under 4mm long, one bowl has a 1mm rim nick. Saucers: Four are ok, one has a minor foot nick, another is broken in two.
Seth Pennington Liverpool teapot and a trio circa 1790 with moulded bodies and underglaze blue printed borders, (5) The teapot measures 18cm high Condition report Teapot: minor chips to underside of lid rim, spout and finial. Minor peppering. Trio: the cup has a minor nick, the saucer has a glazed over rim chip.
Two Liverpool teapots circa 1770 -1780 both with similar moulded bodies, the first with green translucency indicating a soap rock formula and therefore probably by Philip Christians factory, painted with polychrome flora and details, the second with yellow translucency indicating a bone ash formula and therefore probably Christian`s successor Seth Pennington painted in underglaze blue (4) The first teapot measures 18cm high Condition report: Polychrome: restored chip to teapot lid, small chips to spout, cracks and associated chip to handle joins at body. Blue and white: firing crack and hole to body, flat chips to spout, finial missing.
Two James Pennington Liverpool teapots circa 1770 the first decorated with a clobbered Cannon Ball pattern, the second in underglaze blue decorated with Barbed chain and Daisy Spray pattern, (4) The tallest teapot measures 16cm high Condition report: Clobbered teapot: lid restuck, large sections of flange missing, two chips and a short hairline to spout, peppering to glaze. Blue and White teapot: two chips 1cm wide to rim of lid, 4.5cm section restuck. The base has a short hairline to rim as well as a crack from the rim to the spout. The spout has a large chip.
Two English porcelain teapots circa 1790 the first by Worcester decorated with a gilt design, the second by Caughley decorated with `Pagoda` pattern, `S` mark to base, (4) 14cm high Condition report: Worcester pot: three small flat chips to the teapot lid, minor gilt wear. Caughley pot: small chips to the lid, section of the end of the spout lacking.
Staffordshire Salt glazed teapot circa 1750 painted with oriental figures within garden scenes, (2) 11.5cm high Condition report: Several cracks to the body, the spout (with filled chip) reattached to the body. The cover is probably matched to the teapot as it does not sit properly within the recessed rim, it has a small rim chip.

A group of 'Boy in the window' pattern teawares, early 1800s, comprising a Miles Mason teabowl, 9cm diameter, a Miles Mason, 19.5cm diameter, a similar plate with a pierced rim, 20cm diameter, together with a 'Pattern Book' factory group teapot and cover (4) Footnote: The 'Pattern Book' factory group has been connected by its numbered patterns to a pattern-book of unknown origin that is in the V & A (Grainger's Worcester has been suggested as a possible source). A teapot of corresponding type, but decorated with a different pattern, is illustrated by Robin Emmerson in 'British Teapots & Tea Drinking' as no. 364 on pl. 115, and is dated to c.1800.

A Chelsea porcelain hexagonal teapot and cover, circa 1750-1755, the body decorated in the Kakiemon palette with blossoming prunus, bamboo and banded hedge, the reverse with a ho-o bird in flight, unmarked, height approx 12cm, bearing `Kate Foster Ltd` paper label (spout restored, metal reinforcement to handle, minor chips and wear). Provenance: accompanied by a purchase invoice from Kate Foster Ltd, dated 25th May 1977.
