A mid 19th century Victorian circa 1860 likely Stourbridge engraved glass teapot and cover. The teapot featuring a stepped finial lid with foliate & beading engraved design, the body of the pot with floral centrepiece bouquet display, with a fine pulled spout. On circular foot. The pulled teapot handle with historic damage & repair where the handle has been re-fixed to the body, see additional images. A rare example of a finely crafted engraved glass teapot. Measures approx. 19cm tall.

A JAPANESE PORCELAIN TEA SERVICE, SIGNED KOSAKA TOEMON, CIRCA 1900. To include a teapot, milk jug, sugar pot, eight saucers, six cups and eight plates. All decorated with snowy landscape scenes with gilt detailing, Signed Kosaka Toemon. largest plate 18.5cm diam. (25) Faint hairlines to one saucer and one plate. The rest in good overall condition.

A JAPANESE RED LACQUER HIBACHI, BY TANAKA KOYU, B.1939. With copper lined interior. Hibachi which translates to ‘fire bowl’, traditionally used to hold burning charcoal which warms the kettle when serving tea. Together with original 'tomobako' wooden storage box signed Tanaka Koyu, also known as Koen. Together with a cast iron kettle stand, teapot not included. 34cm diam. Box size 39 x 39 x 28cm.Iron teapot not included in this lot. Hibachi in good overall condition with no signs of damage or repair.

A Herend porcelain teapot of mammoth proportions - printed factory mark and painted '600' pattern number, of globular form with basket-weave moulding to the rim, painted with scattered exotic birds and floral sprigs, the cover with yellow rose finial, 21.5 cm high, 37.5 cm long from spout to handle.* Condition: Excellent, with no faults apart from very minor gilt wear.
Three Chinese export porcelain plates - each approx. 21.8 cm diameter, one with painted in blue and white with flowers issuing from rockwork, within a floral lappet reserve and cracked ice border; one with Imari style floral decoration; and the third a saucer dish with typical Canton enamels; together with a miniature Canton teapot (damaged & repaired lid); and a blue and white porcelain mug with beast handle, painted with a figure in a lake landscape, 9.5 cm high (cracked, repaired chip to rim)* Condition: Blue & white plate - two hairlines, two small chips and glaze frits to rim. Imari plate: Hairline to rim and some gilt wear. Canton dish: Good overall - tiny rim chip and some gilt wear. Teapot: Cover extensively damaged with glued repair and piece missing. The pot in good condition. Mug: Large filled chip to rim and large crack.
A Worcester teapot and cover and two cups and saucers, c.1760-75, the teapot painted with a Chinese family beside a stand and a low table, one cup and saucer with Warmstry fluting and painted with colourful birds, the other with flower sprays, and a fluted two-handled cup painted with flowers, 18.5cm max. A rare and early Doccia teapot, c.1750-52, the fluted baluster form transfer printed in underglaze blue with putti at various pursuits, including playing on a seesaw, after Jacques Stella's Jeux des Enfants, beneath a stampino flower sprays and leaves, the grooved spout with a large acanthus leaf at the base, the cover lacking, 21cm across.Provenance: the Mavis Watney collection.Illustrated: J V G Mallet, Transfer Printing in England and Italy, Transactions of the English Ceramic Circle, Volume 22 (2011). This teapot provided the evidence to back up previously made claims that Doccia combined the art of transfer printing with that of stencilling a stampa.
A rare Plymouth teapot and cover of small size, c.1768-70, the squat globular body painted in famille verte enamels with the Dragons in Compartments pattern, the rim with flowerhead panels on a cell diaper ground, 15cm across. (2)Provenance: the Roger and Patricia Daniels Collection. Formerly the Timothy D Menzel Collection and acquired by him from Leonard Crow pre-1960.Cf. FS MacKenna 'Collection of English Porcelain', volume 3, p.122.The Dragons in Compartments pattern derives from a Chinese original, but is believed to have been brough to Plymouth by a Worcester artist after William Cookworthy advertised for painters to join his fledgling factory.
