A matched 19th century Chinese white metal three piece tea service, comprising teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug, the teapot of oval form relief decorated with various birds amongst flowering bamboo, with faux bamboo handle and floral engraved conical spout, makers mark IW with engraved inscription from "Letty to Letty Aug 30th 1913", h.13cm, the sugar bowl and cream jug with matching decoration, vacant shield shaped cartouches and gilt washed interiors with makers mark CS probably for Cum Shing, Canton, the cream jug with inscription matching the teapot, the sugar bowl inscribed "LL to William", gross weight 23.3oz.It is thought by the vendor that the giver of the tea set was Letitia Elizabeth Rudge (1861-1923), better known as Letty Lind a British actress, singer, dancer and acrobat, best known for her work in burlesque at the Gaiety Theatre and musical theatre at Daly's in London, the recipient is thought to have been her Grandmother (also Letty) who was her dresser for many years on the occasion of her marriage to William Edward Earl the Grandfather of the vendors wife.Condition report: All pieces inscribed verso.All three pieces with minor dents to footrims only.Otherwise very good.

Various ceramics, 19th century and modern; to include a 19th century Japanese porcelain bachelor's teapot modelled as a melon and hand decorated in the Imari paletteCondition Report: The spout looks in good condition as is the teapot body. The decoration is crisp and C shaped handle appears good with no restorations noted. There is a small triangular firing hole to the underside to the handle at the top, the foot rim looks good with some evidence of kiln grit to the underside as expected. The cover is affixed to the top of the handle of the teapot by a small chain and looks in reasonable order except for a 'minor' chip to the inside of the lip rim.

An oval hallmarked silver George III period teapot of oval section; pear-shaped ivory finial, carved high-arched wooden handle (probably ebony) and the flush hinged lid and main body engraved with bright-cut decoration, two elaborate cartouches, one engraved 'A.S.' maker's mark D.U. N.H., assayed London probably 1792 (total weight approximately 490g)Condition Report: The condition looks good generally overall, no evidence of repairs or restorations. The finial has some vertical 'split' marks - only visible with the eye, not the touch. Hallmarks clear on the underside.

~ A George V Silver Teapot, by Sebastian Garrard, London, 1921, bullet-shaped, the rim engraved with a band of latticework, with wood handle, the hinged cover with ball finial, engraved with the Pike crest, 26.5cm wide over handle, gross weight 23oz 12dwt, 733gr. Fully marked under base and part marked inside the cover. The marks are clear. Further stamped under base with maker's name. There is some very minor surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wood handle has lost some of its finish. Would benefit from being properly polished.
