A couple of chips to neck, glaze fault to handle, other chips around foot. Next 33.5 cm high, stamped J HERRIDGE & CO/Grocers/GILLINGHAM, and stamped PRIEST'S CANTON CARDIFF, and stamped 1, small chip to neck, a couple of others in body and around foot. Also a couple of firing cracks in base. Jar, no handle, 31 cm high, impressed mark to base which appears to read DOULTON & Co LAMBETH LTD within circle, top stencilled initials in black S.R.D., jar with several knocks, chips and cracked. Next 25.5 cm high, stamped R W BORLEY/Wine & Spirit Merchants/ SHAFTESBURY, and with oval printed mark PRICE BRISTOL 19, general wear with knocks and bumps Two similar, both 25.5 cm high and with black writing THIS IS THE PROPERTY OF MATTHEWS & Co WYKE BREWERY GILLINGHAM, and impressed with oval mark PRICE BRISTOL 21, one numbered 597 in black, the other numbered 610. 597 with general wear, 610 with general wear and chip to neck. Colclough service only: Contents: Teapot and cover, gold mark to base, cracking, gilt decoration crackled, appears unused. Sugar bowl: Back stamp scratched/second. Two others, one with gold mark to base. Tureen and cover: Gold mark to base Coffee pot and cover: Gold mark to base. Appears unused Milk jug: Some gilt to rim unglazed/unfinished. Milk jug: Gilt imperfect. Gold mark to base. Twelve 26.5 cm diameter plates: Two seconds One cake plate, 26 cm wide: Cracked. Two tier cake stand: Drilled but no rises. 13 21 cm diameter plates: One is chipped, one is cracked and just still in one piece. 19 16 cm diameter plates: Four cracked and just together, three seconds Twelve pudding bowls 18 saucers: ten seconds 23 cups: 17 seconds Service has been used, signs of wear and tear to centre of plates. Signs of use most notable to cups as many have much rubbing to gilt decoration.
Assorted T G Green & Co Cornish Kitchen Ware items, including dinner and side plates, tea and coffee pots, cups and saucers, and similar items (3 boxes) Condition report Report by GH The underside of the lid on the larger teapot is broken off around the lip. One of the larger dinner plates has a tiny nibble to the rim. One of the side plates also has a tiny nibble to the edge. Some of the plates have crazing to the glaze. Other very occasional nibbles on a few items. Generally very good and most pieces appear to be virtually unused. Everything dusty and slightly dirty from storage in varying degrees. All require cleaning.
A Belleek part tea service, a pair of Royal Winton Summertime chintz baskets, a silver butter dish, and other ceramics (qty) Condition report Report by NG Chintz baskets only: One with chip to top visible edge of foot, both with some scratches and losses to printed decoration. Belleek: Pink Service: One saucer cracked, milk jug with fault near handle, teapot with slight firing crack visible around spout, no lid for teapot. Rubbing to edges but no other visible damage to this service. Cloverleaf items: One cup broken and glued, two other cups with cracks, other two cups, four saucers and small bowl appear to be free of damage and repairs.
