St. L Chase, 10 September 1875 and Lieutenant H.e.c. Way, 11 September 1877', height 13cm, approx. weight 14.5oz. Provenance: a Private Collection of Regimental Silver. They both joined the 15th Regiment of the 2nd Battalion. During the 2nd Afghan War of 1878-1880 William Chase was assigned to the 28th Bombay Infantry and Henry Way to the 13th Bombay Native infantry. Chase went on to win a VC at the defence of Kandahar.
