A George III silver teapot, the shallow domed lid with wooden finial above a shaped body with foliate engraved banding and open linen swag cartouche to either side, the spout of tapering reeded form opposite an open scrollwork wooden handle (by Henry Chawner, London 1792), 15 cm high, 14.23 oz (including handle) CONDITION REPORTS Wear and scuffs, some knocks and dents. Solder visible to interior of base. Exterior edge of base has wear. Small split to top border. Hinge and hinge areas appear to have been repaired / replaced. Ridge to interior of lid. A section appears to have been added to spout end of the opening, beneath the lid (please see photos). Splits to wood handle.
